Graphics memory for USB HD Tuner stick?

I am contemplating purchase of a USB HD tuner stick, for use with a laptop. My processor meets the CPU performance requirements. I am wondering whether the shared graphics memory in my laptop will be adequate, or whether dedicated graphics memory is required. Does anyone use a USB HD tuner with their laptop and shared graphics memory? Is the performance OK? Thanks in advance!

Graphics memory for USB HD Tuner stick?

A dedicated video card, would improve the quality, I would no purchase a USB tuner for a Laptop unless it has an Nvidia 7 or 8 series or ATI Radeon X1xxx Series or the ATI Radeon 2xxx Series

Graphics...plz help?

i have intel 900GMA 128 MB graphics card in my laptop..

from hp website i downloaded the recent upgrade of my graphics.

now in the INFORMATION it shows 9 mb of graphics its using...

but previous driver shown 35 mb in use.....

it increases while i play games but normally shows 9 previously 35....

can you help me plzzzzzzz

Graphics...plz help?

If it's not effecting the immagery or game play it's best to leave it as it is now. The more memory you use the less that is available for other applications. Obviously, the new bios or driver upgrade was written to use the graphics more efficiently.

Hope this helps,

Ryanaven

Graphics...plz help?

That's a good thing. Apparently the new driver is more efficient and only uses the memory for graphics when you need it.

Graphics...plz help?

If you don't like it this way go back to the driver you've been using before the upgrade. There's nothing to worry about though.

Graphics card help!??

i have windows vista ultimate, my motherboard is a asus p4s800-MX. before my graphics card was a ati radeon 128 mb and it worked fine on vista, bet then after a while it nearly overheated because i smelt it burning so i quickly took it out luckly it was fine. I used the integrated graphics card, which is a SiS 661 FX. after a while i tried putting back the ati radeon but now everything is slower. eveyrthing shows up slower than before. is this because of the graphics card??? if it is, isnt the ati radeon better than the SiS??

Graphics card help!??

Wow, you SMELLED it burning? That seems like there could be some extensive damage to your graphics card. I'm surprised it still works. It could just be that some circuit that controls accelerated graphics is broken. If it's still under warranty, I suggest you return it.

Graphics card help!??

Did you install the proper drivers for the 2nd card and configure it for your system? If so, then its a good bet that its slower than the first one.

Graphics card help!??

the graphics card could be malfunctioning....

or... did you happen to overclock the graphics card? underclock it back..

Graphics card help!??

You might just have a bad card - if your graphic card is still under warranty then contact ATI and have them replace it.

Check your case to make sure you have sufficient cooling inside your computer, that could be the cause why it overheated. Further you want to make sure that it doesn't happen again.

Graphics card driver instalation problem?

When i install the drivers for my graphics card, i can hardly play a video on windows media player, it freezes. My motherboard has embedded graphics, elitegroup rs400-a, and my graphics card is a Ge force 6 nvidie. pls help.

Graphics card driver instalation problem?

It might be your graphics card driver, so check driverguide.com. It could also be the latest Java hack, I recommend you scan your computer, its that install the latest Windows Media Codec, while some are legitimate some are malicious.

Graphics card driver instalation problem?

1. try to disable your embedded graphic card. to do that jump to step A.

2. try to install latest video drivers from nvidia.com (in download drivers section)

3. try to search on google.com ("download %26lt;your motherboard make and number%26gt; drivers", without quotes and %26lt;%26gt;

A. Right click on My Computer icon from desktop, click on manage, wait to open a wondow and click on the Device Manager in left side of the opened window, click on Display adapter on the right side and execute a right click on the video cart that you want to disable and choose disable option.

Reboot your PC or Laptop and try to watch a movie..

Graphics card: Nvidia GeForce 8600M upto 1GB Grahpics Memory?

Could anyone tell me how good this graphics card is? I am buying a new laptop and this is the graphics card listed. I am very keen computer gamer and media and entertainment enthusiast. Please inform me of whether this graphics card will be capable of running the latest games and how well...thank you.

Graphics card: Nvidia GeForce 8600M upto 1GB Grahpics Memory?

that is a great graphics card. It supports up 1 gb of shared memory. It has like 512mb of ram on it's own. It will play a lot of game at near maximum settings.

Graphics card: Nvidia GeForce 8600M upto 1GB Grahpics Memory?

I'm playing battlefield 2 at 70fps with a resolution of 1200x900. I say that's pretty sweet.

It's worth mentioning that my 8600M GT is a 256MB DDR2. A 8600M GS will be a tad slower, and an 8600M GT DDR3 will be much faster.

Graphics Card Problem, MOBO, or what?

I have a problem with a HP desktop PC HP 330DT. If the machine stays disconnected from the mains for at least two hours, on next boot up, monitor gets signal OK, but the OS (Win XP Pro SP1) fails to load with an error message that a certain file is missing and to repair, use the recovery CDs (or something to that effect). On attempting to reboot the system using the HP-supplied recovery and operating system CDs, signal to the monitor disappears completely. After that, the machine has to stay disconnected from the mains for two more hours before signal to the monitor can be obtained, then the cycle begins again.

At one point, I managed to restore the operating system using the CDs, but on the next reboot, the same problem re-appeared. I suspected the on-board graphics port to be faulty, so I fixed another graphics card (in a PCI slot). But the problem still persists even with this new graphics card. I tried replacing the RAM (DDR) modules but still same problem.

Any help is appreciated

Graphics Card Problem, MOBO, or what?

its not the graphics card that's causing the prob. it can be the mobo or the fan or the heatsink.. try to use the system while the chassis is opened and try to put a deskfan beside it and check how long the system can run without crashing.. if it runs longer then the problem is the heatsink or fan cause it is overheating that's why the system shuts down.. however if it shutdown same thing it can be the mobo that has the defect...

USB Graphics card?

Hi! I have a dell laptop with shared graphics- (Yes I know! Bad!!) I'v checked the dell website and apparently I can't a graphics card in the laptop.

Does anyone know of a USB or firewire graphics card that I could use??

*availiable in the UK

USB Graphics card?

That we be so much worse than what you have now it isn't worth it unless you are trying to do multiple screens. The only reason to do what you are saying is to have multiple screens, the one connected with the USB device will have a bad refresh rate and not recommended for any games.

USB Graphics card?

I'm afraid you're stuck with the exiting graphics, so gaming is limited.

Because the video shares system RAM, you can add more memory to improve general performance.

USB Graphics card?

not much u can do to your laptop.

Was it my graphics card or my motherboard?

Well, I have a crap compaq presario and for some reason, I wasn't able to connect my graphics card because I would get no signal. So I bought a new motherboard and cpu. I'm expecting my package to come this week, but do you think it could've been my graphics card?

Whenever I put my graphics card into the slot of the Compaq PC, the graphics card fan would would turn on, but nothing else would. Only way my PC worked was with using the onboard videocard. The card is pretty new, and it's NOT a powersupply problem. Could it be because the fact that the Motherboard was REALLY old(bought around 2003-4), or because the graphics card doesn't work? (The video card was a GeForce 7600gt)

Was it my graphics card or my motherboard?

look into what powersupply you have and the probability of your presario's motherboard having integrated graphics is very high so look into that and disabled onboard graphics in the cmos setup if you didnt.

Was it my graphics card or my motherboard?

You have to disable on board graphics before installing new graphic card. Then install new drivers.

Was it my graphics card or my motherboard?

I put a Radeon X1050 into my comp from around 2004-2005, and it worked just fines, (This is a stupid question) Did you get the graphics card for the right port?

Was it my graphics card or my motherboard?

I am leaning towards a motherboard issue. The 7600GT uses the PCI express graphics port. These were introduced in 2004, so an earlier model Compaq may not have had this.

Newegg recomends a minimum of a 350 Watt powersupply, or it needs a 400 Watt to operate in SLI mode.

New graphics card...HELP!!?

I bought a GeForce FX 5200 graphics card. It came with a small card that said if you have on-board graphics, you have to enter the system's BIOS setup and change a setting called Primary Display Adapter to 'PCI'. I had to do this so i went into the BIOS and the option i needed to change was called 'Integrated Video Adapter'. I still changed it to the 'PCI' option and plugged my monitor's cable into the graphics card's VGA monitor connector. I start the computer but it's just black. Can someone tell what the problem is? I have an Intel Celeron 1.80 GHz with an Intel 82845G graphics controller if that helps.

New graphics card...HELP!!?

Check your settings again. Plug your monitor into the old slot (on your computer) and see if it still coming up. it looks like the settings might not have gotten changed? Try it again, or try other settings in the BIOS that have to do with display.

You are on the right track, just double check your steps.

New graphics card...HELP!!?

Does your graphics card have more than 1 output? If so, make sure you connect the monitor to the correct one. Also, make sure you aren't connecting the monitor to the port you just disabled (I've done this before). It should plug into the new card's port.

New graphics card...HELP!!?

Once you changed from integrated to PCI, Did you press F10 in your BIOS to save the changes?

Is the video card sitting tightly on the slot?

If you answer yes to this two questions above, then, there might be something wrong with your video card.

Do wii graphics exceed xbox [original] graphics?

The wii is 2-2.5 times stronger than the gamecube. The gamecubes had graphics that were always competing with xbox's graphics and some were even better [resident evil 4, twilight princess, and metroid prime] yet at specs that were half the power of th xbox's because of it's architecture, and the way how the whole system worked all together. So with with specs more powerful, and a much more efficient architecture than the one before, shouldn't it produce spectacular graphics that are like Directx 9 graphics at least.

Do wii graphics exceed xbox [original] graphics?

Well, the Wii doesn't use Direct X architecture, but in terms of comparison, you will eventually see games that blur the lines between high end dx9 games and low end dx10 games.

It is more powerful than the xbox, but it's important to remember good graphics are a stated non-priority for Nintendo. Expect gameplay innovation before graphical prowess.

Do wii graphics exceed xbox [original] graphics?

I don't think it does. I played Twilight Princess and it didn't look all that great. The wii's graphics remind me of PS2 more than Xbox, and ofcourse Xbox has better graphics than PS2 (even thought the PS2 kicks @$$!!!)

Do wii graphics exceed xbox [original] graphics?

yes of course. i have a wii and an old x box. the wii's graphics are much better.

Do wii graphics exceed xbox [original] graphics?

i think it does but if it did not i would not care i love the wii so much! its about game play not about how it looks

Do wii graphics exceed xbox [original] graphics?

yes it has becuase i have a wii and i love it, getting a hd tele for it this month hahaha

Do wii graphics exceed xbox [original] graphics?

you should check out this site where you can get a wii for free (hey, that rhymes!)

Do wii graphics exceed xbox [original] graphics?

Wii GPU = 729Mhz 90nm process

Xbox GPU = 733Mhz 190nm Process

Wii CPU = 233Mhz 90nm process

Xbox CPU = 233Mhz

Wii Memory = 64MB external main memory

Xbox Memory=64MB external main memory

Wii Screen Resolution = 480i, 480p, 16:9

Xbox Screen Resolution = 480i, 480p, 720p, 1080i, 16:9

I'd say their mirror images of each other. Although the Wii is more efficient, quieter, %26amp; runs cooler.

Which graphics card would be best for PC games?

I love playing video games on my computer but unfortunatly i can only play them ,without having the game lag, while the games graphics options are set to the lowest (including detail in characters / items and the resolution). So i decided to get a new graphics card so i can play them with much better graphics and with a much higher resolution.

Ive decided to get a geforce card from the 8800 series but im debating on what type to get. The geforce 8800 ultra looks preety good but i have head alot of good things about the geforce 8800gt when it comes to gaming

so my question is, which one would be best for getting top graphics out of my games?

Which graphics card would be best for PC games?

WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

wait for the 8900 GTX !

Which graphics card would be best for PC games?

it doesn't matter what it looks like (because it is insode your PC so you won't see it), as long as it does it's job properly and doesn't heat up too much, i'd go the one with the bigger MB or whatever (I don't know too much about graphics cards, i have a notebook set to 32MB)

Which graphics card would be best for PC games?

Please refer this URL

Which graphics card would be best for PC games?

Do a google or yahoo search for 8800 ultra and 8800 gt and add the word "benchmark" or "benchmark tests" to your search. Probably some hardware website has already done comparisons as to which card is the best for which situations. I have an 8800 gtx and it is very nice for games.

Poor Graphics Performance of brand new laptop?

I just purchased an HP nx6310 Laptop with an Intel Dual Core processor, 1GB of RAM and Intel GMA950 shared graphics with 128MB of shared video memory. For some reason, graphics like images on websites and DVDs are really pixelated and blocky. The graphics of my old Dell (1.4GHz Celeron, 256MB RAM and 64MB shared graphics) were much better. Why could this be??

Poor Graphics Performance of brand new laptop?

Is a common misconception that the more video memory will improve the Windows Desktop and other 2D applications.

The problem that you have is related to the higher resolution in your new laptop. normally a older laptop will have a resolution of 1024 by 768 but any newer laptop with a larger screen 绡?and most likely you have a wide screen LCD), will have a bigger resolution. then something that appears normal in the older one, with the laptop will appears very small. What happens is that the Internet explorer try to fix that image (and also some program use the Internet explorer subsystem to display images, like the dvd software) but the Internet explorer is not able to fix those image in the proper way, and that is the reason you have that issue.

just to very that, try opening a image maybe with paint or any other image viewer, and if you have the same issue there, then is something else, but if the problem is more common in Internet website, most likely is only one setting in the Internet explorer

For more inof about the issue, please check the Microsoft's website:

http://msdn.microsoft.com/workshop/autho...

this one is a little technical, but have explain better why you have the issue

and here is how to fix it.

http://www.zieak.com/2007/01/16/internet...

hope this will fix the problem in you case

Poor Graphics Performance of brand new laptop?

Go into Control Panel...Display Properties and then into advanced...and check all your graphics settings...sounds like either dpi or resolution issue!

Poor Graphics Performance of brand new laptop?

You can try Microsoft.com. There you click on download center, then type in graphic cards. Some free downloadable graphic cards might pop-up for you HP computer. Don't worry, they take you step-by-step on how to uninstall your old one and reinstall the new one. I hope this helps. Good Luck.

Poor Graphics Performance of brand new laptop?

It really does sound like it is a resolution issue. Make sure in your graphics properties that the resolution is set to 1280x800 or higher. And that the color is set to 24-bit or higher.

Replacing Graphics Card Fan?

The way my graphics card fan is attached to the graphics card creates a lot of noise, this noise is not from the fan itself. I was wondering if I can buy a fan or cooling system to cool the graphics card that does not attach directly to the graphics card.

Replacing Graphics Card Fan?

it depends on what graphics card u have since there is some generic cooling fans and heatsinks u can get but some cards required a more complex cooling system.

i would check http://www.frozencpu.com for cooling.

Replacing Graphics Card Fan?

Call the Geek Squad in Best Buy near You, they have the best professedly..in your area

Problem with Graphics card fan?

A strange loud really annoying humming sound started coming from my computer, upon investigation I have determined that it is being produced by the way the fan on the graphics card is connected to the graphics card. I disconnected the fan from the graphics card, with the fan still running and the humming was gone, put it back on and the annoying noise started up again, Now my question is what can i do to fix this problem? The fan is attached to the graphics card by 2 springloaded plastic rods, and there is some white goo between the fan and graphics card.

Problem with Graphics card fan?

First, that white goo is called ThermalGel, don't wipe it off because it helps the heat get off your video card. Try and see if you can notice your fan hitting anything while it is running. Make sure the spring rods aren't touching the fan. It could also be the angle of the fan itself. sometimes, fans make that noise because they are hitting the edge of the inside of the fan because of an offset axis. If all else fails, contact the manufacturer and get it taken care of. If nothing else works, and you still want that video card, you might be able to either buy a liquid cooling system that can connect to your card, or you can buy a PCI Chip cooler than can keep it cool and take the video card fan right off.

Problem with Graphics card fan?

try tighten your graphic and those screw on your mainboard a bit...

Intel Duo graphics card driver?

You will want to look for drivers from the manufacturer of your motherboard or computer system. What is the make of your computer?

Problem with graphics card fan..?

A strange loud really annoying humming sound started coming from my computer, upon investigation I have determined that it is being produced by the way the fan on the graphics card is connected to the graphics card. I disconnected the fan from the graphics card, with the fan still running and the humming was gone, put it back on and the annoying noise started up again, Now my question is what can i do to fix this problem? The fan is attached to the graphics card by 2 springloaded plastic rods, and there is some white goo between the fan and graphics card.

Problem with graphics card fan..?

if it's under warranty, send it back for a replacement. if it isn't under warranty, you'll have to fix it yourself. you might as well just remove the whole cooling assembly and buy an aftermarket VGA cooler at this point (doing this will void your warranty if it hasn't already expired).

Zalman makes popular VGA coolers that are pretty universal. they're bigger than your stock assembly, so you'll have to leave the PCI slot next to your vid card open. but they cool better than stock coolers, so you might notice a slight performance increase.

that white goo is thermal paste, and it's necessary to help transfer heat from your card to the heatsinks. don't take it off unless you're putting a new cooler on.

Problem with graphics card fan..?

yeah davedave0 is right get a new vga cooling kit vantec have a complete kit for 20 bucks and it includes the fan hetasinks 3-4 pin adt thremal tape and thermal grease

Intel Extreme Graphics, and Intel Extreme Graphics 2????

What is the difference between "Intel Exreme Grahics 1" and "Intel Extreme Graphics 2"

Is the 2nd one just a more modern version of the Graphics driver or what?

My friend has a computer that says it has "Intel Extreme Graphics"....and thats it

But mines is "Intel Extreme Graphics 2"

Is there a difference?

IS one better then the other?

Is the video more better than the other??

Intel Extreme Graphics, and Intel Extreme Graphics 2????

Intel extreme graphics is a software program/driver utility for intel video chipsets and graphics cards. Intel Extreme 2 is better because it caters to newer Intel graphics chipsets. The fact that you are running the Intel Extreme Graphics 2 driver utility program on your computer means your graphics card is probably better than your friends.

Intel Extreme Graphics, and Intel Extreme Graphics 2????

You answered most of your own question. The Intel Extreme 2 video chip set would be a more update and modern and it would be better in terms of speed, technologies it would support, usually in rendering 3D. However, both are fine for video playback and you shouldn't notice too much of a difference.

When I put an older graphics card in my comp it started acting strange. How do I fix it?

I put a 16mb maxtor graphics card in my 234gb space 1042mb ram computer. Is the graphics card to old to run on the comp becuase that wouldn't make much sence. The reason I'm using this (for now) is becuase my good graphics card fried and i'm using this for now. When I turn on the comp it goes on and shows the windows loading screen, then the screen turns blank. Other times I pic "last known good configurating" and it lets me through, even though it looks like crud. I installed the drivers for it and now it's worse becuae it hardly asks me if I want to go to "last known good confuguration" or safe mode etc.

The last time it did work, it looked like no graphics card was in the computer. I ran dxdiag and It didn't say I had a graphics card, it said "n/a". And it already recognized the maxtor graphics card before I installed the drivers. After I did, caboosh. And I know my card is working becuase it works on my other comp. How can I get my computer working normal with this graphics card

When I put an older graphics card in my comp it started acting strange. How do I fix it?

You probably won't. You would need drivers to match your current os, also there are now voltage differences for agp cards, some cards can become damaged by putting them in recent boards, and some can actually damage the board.

When I put an older graphics card in my comp it started acting strange. How do I fix it?

Sounds like you need to get a driver for that card.

LAPTOPS: Graphics options...?

I am planning to buy the new dell inspiron 1525... The cons of this laptop is the graphics options.

It says specifically "but gamers will be disappointed by the lack of graphics options."

It has also Intel graphics media accelerator X3100

Does that means that high graphics games such as red alert or need for speed or stuff like that wont work?

LAPTOPS: Graphics options...?

GMA X3100 is the least powerful graphics chipset available in current laptops, and is not good for games. Any Nvidia or ATI chipset will perform better, though the ones you should consider for gaming will use dedicated RAM rather than shared RAM. A much better option would be the Inspiron 1520, which uses the Nvidia 8400 chipset, with 128MB dedicated RAM.

http://www.dell.com/content/products/pro...

LAPTOPS: Graphics options...?

most newer games will lag on it because graphic media accelarators really can't do well in handling games. if you want a true gaming computer, buy a desktop as it is more powerful.

LAPTOPS: Graphics options...?

It will work, you will definitely be able to play them, but it just means the quality will not be that great. Your game will probably lag a little bit, the colors wont be as realistic, the movements might be slower than normal, and you might experience some crashing.

I would just buy the laptop and get a new graphics card for a cheap price and replace it with the old one. That way, you can experience a better gaming environment and you might save some money.

LAPTOPS: Graphics options...?

The game will work, but due to that type of graphics card it will not take the best looks of the game and some features would look different with a faster graphics card.

LAPTOPS: Graphics options...?

It depends on the game's requirements.

If you're going to use the laptop for gaming, stay away from integrated graphics (basically anything other than an Nvidia or ATI card).

"I would just buy the laptop and get a new graphics card for a cheap price and replace it with the old one. That way, you can experience a better gaming environment and you might save some money."

That's not always an option. Laptops are not always easy to upgrade.

If you want a Dell take a look at the XPS line at least.

LAPTOPS: Graphics options...?

almost certainly!

laptops are useless for gamers

the new games graphics gets better and better

causing a need for better and better graphgics cards.

these - though expensive - can easily be upgraded on a desktop -even by a novice.

ADDED AFTER READING ANSWERS

SEAN IT@ IS CLEARLY NOTHING TO DO WITH IT!!

YOU CANNOT "SIMPLY BUY THE LAPTOP AND REPLACE THE GRAPHICS"

THE SAME APPLIES TO MACAIRA'S ANSWER

LAPTOP GRAPHIC ARE ONBOARD JOBBIES - YOU WOULD HAVE TO CHANGE THE MOTHERBOARD - A VERY EXPENSIVE OPTION!!!!!

whith a laptop, you are stuck with mediocre graphics to start - soon to be out dated

a certain future battery replacement of betweem 鎷?0 - 鎷?20

do yourself a favour and get a desktop

LAPTOPS: Graphics options...?

You have to realize with Laptops you don't really upgrade Graphic cards. it actually not a card (like it is on desktop computers). its more of a CHIP that is put on the motherboard, so the motherboard is made to take those types of chips. This leaves your options for upgrading pretty much impossible (dell might have another chip that fits the motherboard, but I'm guessing you would have been able to buy that when ordering your laptop).

So older games well play OK. Newer games probably won't play at all. (or not worth playing). Thats what you get with a laptop.

Installing graphics card ATI X1300?

Ok, first my specs...

I have an E-machines T3092

1gig PC-2700 ram

On-board Nvidia MX 64MB graphics card

AMD 64(single core)

I have been through tech support with ATI and E-machines both for much to long. First I talked to ATI, they stated I had some windows malfunction so I reinstalled my OS, followed the step by step instructions on how to install the AGP graphics card, I made sure I downloaded all drivers/chipsets for my E-machines and disabled my on-board graphics card before I installed the ATI card. The installation for the drivers for the ATI card was no problem. I rebooted to have everything take effect. I tried playing "Alien Shooter 2 Vengeance" and "Dynasty Warriors 4 Hyper" that was easily played using my on-board graphics card, and on Alien Shooter the screen turns black for 3 seconds and then kicks me back to the desktop while Dynasty tell me I dont have the latest DirectX3D software, yet I have installed DirectX lastest version. Whats going on? Please help! x.x

Installing graphics card ATI X1300?

try disabling your onbord graphics card in you device manager and enable the new card

Installing graphics card ATI X1300?

AGP is quirky like that. I'd buy a pci express motherboard.

OMG! Whats with nvidia LE graphics?

Greetings,

Listen up folks, say if i had nvidia 7300 LE graphics, or nvidia 7300 SE graphics, how would that compare to nvidia 7300 GS graphics.

I'm not sure but i think the first two are onboard.

Does this make a difference.

I want to be able to play high end games.

The graphics card i have now is an nvidia 7300GS with 256mb of memory.

I'm getting a new pc soon and the majority of the ones i've come across are all LE graphics or SE.

Are they the same or drastically worse.

I realize i've probably sent most of you in a coma by now, but if anyone is still fully consciouses it's your moral duty to help me solve this dilemma.

Thank You

God Bless!

OMG! Whats with nvidia LE graphics?

I'm not sure if the LE and SE are onboard....I always thought the GeForce Go cards were the onboard ones.

The GS is a marginally better card.

If they turn out to be onboard cards, don't get them...you can't upgrade onboard graphics.

If you're looking into playing high-end games...the 7300 series is a low-end card which *may* work on low settings.

Go to http://www.tomshardware.com/2007/12/03/b... for rankings of the best gaming cards of December 2007. The best ones, the ones a gamer should look for are around the top 3 rows.

If you go to the previous pages (from 2 onwards I think) it has the best for your money suggestions (it's in price brackets, under$100, $100, $135, $180, etc.).

What I would suggest is to get a non-intergrated card and upgrade it if possible.

^__^

OMG! Whats with nvidia LE graphics?

just go by an expensive compaq computer like i did and found it

OMG! Whats with nvidia LE graphics?

Yeah build your own its cheaper plus you get better stuff, 7300 will not cut it, either will any le, hd 3850/ 3870's or 8800gt's will get you high end graphics...

Worth Upgrading Graphics Card?

I just got a 22" LCD monitor and have an nVIDIA GeForce 6600 GT graphics card. When I play in max resolution on Call of Duty 4, it is a lot slower than playing in my old 17" monitor's resolution. I'd like to play max resolution for the graphics not to be terrible but what needs to be upgraded? My graphics card? If so, what is a top of the line graphics card at an affordable price?

I'm playing in 1280x1024 resolution in the game but I'd like to go to 1680x1050 for the best looking graphics, but don't want the lag.

Processor: Pentium 4 CPU 3.00 GHz

RAM: 2 GB

Video Card: nVIDIA GeForce 6600 GT

Worth Upgrading Graphics Card?

My youngest son is a gamer, and he had a pair of nVIDIA GeForce 7300 GT's and a 22 in monitor on his computer when we bought him COD4 for his birthday. They could not keep up, so we bought him a nVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT XXX for Christmas. He is playing with the 8800, says it is fine. It cost us about $250.

http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/...

Worth Upgrading Graphics Card?

Get a new CPU, preferably an E4500 and a XFX Geforce 8600 GTS XXX unless you want an 8800 Ultra!

Worth Upgrading Graphics Card?

Yeah change your Vid card. 128MB is too low. Aim for something with 512MB of RAM. Look at the nvidia 8800 series for a good video card.

Worth Upgrading Graphics Card?

I'd say you just need a new graphic card. nVIDIA is a good brand. My recommendation is just to go up a few models than your current card, I don't know of any great deals with nVIDIA, but if you stay with the same company, there are less compatibility issues. Also, you might want to get a RAM upgrade, i dont know what you have right now, but more RAM can help with graphics. Hope this Helps!

Worth Upgrading Graphics Card?

try and get a card with pixel shading

Problem wid graphics driver on win xp sp2, error code 10, tried reinstalling but no use. plz help.?

Problem wid graphics driver on win xp sp2, error code 10, tried reinstalling but no use. plz help.?

See first if see the microsft site there is no service pack 3 available for the windows xp and if you install the windows xp with service pack 2 and drivers supplied by mother board it will work fine if you update you winxp.

The software that is being installed is not orginal one what is that software it contains a bundle software with office 2003 and yahoo messanger and winzip and other stuff if you see and it dosent ask any key while installing the os. so that is reason you are not able to install the garaphics drivers.

Problem wid graphics driver on win xp sp2, error code 10, tried reinstalling but no use. plz help.?

Have you tried using "other" video cards? is your video card on board? I am assuming that if you really tried installing the driver of your video card, and it still doesn't work. Then the video card that you are using is defective. But first try these...

1. If you have an extra video card that works then try installing it into your PC. ( You could borrow from your friends if you want to)

2. If you have installed the "extra" video card and it worked properly. then your video card is really defective.

Try these first, so that you'll know whether if your video card is defective or not before replacing it okay? i

What graphics card would be best for a dual core amd athlon 64 x2, hp a1730n ?

get an 8800 nvidia ultra .. u may need a bigger powersupply ... after that if u want more ur going to need a new motherboard that supports sli ... 4 gigs of ram isnt going to work unless u know how to get windows to detect it ... i wouldnt go more than 3 really it will be enough .. 2 would probably actually be fine with xp and wouldnt hold u back ..

What graphics card would be best for a dual core amd athlon 64 x2, hp a1730n ?

Your computer has a 16x PCI-E expansion slot. So, just buy the fastest PCI-E video card that you can afford. I'd recommend at least a 320 MB 8800 GTS, if you're wanting very good performance.

Laptop graphics trouble. Help?

Okay, I have a Dell XPS M1210. I got it xmas 06, so its not too old. I got the laptop to play my games when I wasnt at home. I installed my Sims 2 games and I noticed that the graphics were a little weird. I havent really played it since, for other reasons.

Recently, I started playing again and installed Bon Voyage. Now I really notice the graphic problems. The water looks like a blue blob, and the grass from the neighborhood view is horrible, along with other things. All my game settings are on high. Its not just this game etheir - all of my other games are grap too. It runs smoothly, but the graphics are HORRIBLE.

I think it might be my graphics card [ Intel 945GM Express Chipset Family ] .

I dont really know what to do. Can I get a different graphics card, or what? Any suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

Laptop graphics trouble. Help?

You are stuck with your slow GMA 950 integrated graphics, so just make the most out of it.

Try these:

1. Increase RAM to at least 1 Gb in case it is low so that you can share maximum memory for graphics (typically up to 224Mb).

2. Play at low game settings. Adjust it in game's graphics option.

3. Lower your resolution.

4. Lower color quality to 16bit instead of 32bit

Last 2 items are adjusted under Settings in Display Properties (right click on desktop).

Laptop graphics trouble. Help?

well you can't change graphics card in a laptop. try updating your graphics driver from intel website and lowering the game graphics settings

ATI Graphics help?

I have a ATI 1650 pro graphics in my PC, which has a Vista operating system, I know where to get the updating file for the graphics card in order for vista to understand the graphics card, but for some odd reason whenever I start to install the update it gives me an unknown error and tells me to restart the installation. Is there another way to update my graphics card for vista without the operating system giving me any trouble???

Thanks

ATI Graphics help?

You can try to uninstall the current graphics driver first and then install the one you just got.

Integrated Graphics Dillemma?

I am running a P4 2.8 GHZ 1 GB of RAM.

I am stuck with Intels Extreme Graphics 2 and my computer does not

support APG or PCI-Express graphics cars. I have heard that regular PCI cards arent very reliable and sometimes the integrated graphics are better. I am wanting to know 3 things:

Is my integrated graphics enough to support a high demanding game considering i have a Gig of RAM?

If not is the PCI card worth the investment or is it a waste of doh?

Am I screwed?

Integrated Graphics Dillemma?

Integrated graphics are not designed for gaming, especially those demanding games everyone knows about. Integrated graphics are just really basic video cards. Integrated graphics uses system resources for displaying purposes, it uses part of your CPU and memory.

PCI video cards are NOT worth the investment for gaming, you might as well be better off getting a new motherboard or PC that supports PCI-Express x16.

I think you are not 100% screwed but your down there (~85% screwed sorry to say) . You can get a PCI video card to help ease system resources so you can game a little better but I believe you won't be able to play Battlefield 2 or Counter-Strike:Source, or something that demanding.

Integrated Graphics Dillemma?

Integrated graphics lack the power to efficiently run newer games such as HL2 and BF2. PCI cards are almost a waste of money. My best advice is to buy a new motherboard that supports your processor and ram. You should be able to find a newer motherboard that will support pci express or even AGP, though AGP doesn't have much of a future. You should be able to find a motherboard for under $100 brand new.

Integrated Graphics Dillemma?

stick with your inigrated graphics, since it is the Intel's Extreme Graphics 2, it will probably support Counter Strike, but im not sure about Battlefield 2, the Geforce 6600 GT JUST met the requirements for BF2, not sure if the Extreme Graphics 2 can meet up to the demands

Why dont they make the graphics better?

Most people think the wii is too underpowered but i think the problem is that the game makers underestimate the wiis power and create games that look like ps2s yes there is the exceptional mario galaxy and metroid prime 3 but the rest look so ugly. I know the wii could produce better graphics than the original xbox but the game makers wont utilize the graphics why? I know they want to concentrate on the controller and gameplay but that really pisses me off when they dont make everything balanced as it should be. The graphics arent as important as gameplay and controls but i still dont want last gen graphics on my current gen console when i know it could do alot more. The wiis graphics may never be as good as ps3s or 360 but it could be at least 5 times better than what they are now. Please dont say gamplay over graphics I already know that but graphics are still important and shouldnt be ignored.

Why dont they make the graphics better?

It's only been a year! Calm down now... You know that every first generation games weren't even close to pushing the system's performance...

Ask yourself the same question when any of the systems came out and when it was reaching towards the end of its life... It will all be answered with time

Why dont they make the graphics better?

From what I heard, they aren't concentrating on the graphics because the wiis are designed for family playing not for hardcore gamers. The Japanese actually aimed the console for women interested in gaming to be able to play as well. That is why they kept most of the games simple and multi-player. Report It

Why dont they make the graphics better?

who cares

Why dont they make the graphics better?

theyre working on it.

Why dont they make the graphics better?

You make it sound so simple!!

It's much harder in fact, actually Metroid Prime 3, supposedly the best looking Wii game is not that much better that the ones on the Gamecube. I've seen MP3, there's some new lighting and texture mapping, but its already pushing the Wii enough.

The reason companies aren't developing graphics on the Wii? People aren't expecting it. they just expect the Wii to have gameplay and that's what most developers are working.

Why dont they make the graphics better?

The problem with the wii is the hardware simply isnt there to make super high resolurtion games. The wii is essentially meant to be a low cost alternative to the 360 and PS3 and is made to rely more on fun interactive gaming experiences than graphics or even media capabilities. You cant even play DVDs on it. Essentially, the wii is 2 gamecubes duct taped together (I mean that in a nice way). Where as the PS3 and 360 are 8-9x stronger than the PS2 and original xbox.

The whole point is Nintendo made a console thats fun and focuses on interactivity rather than graphics.

In fact, if you look at the graphics on SUper Mario Galaxy and the Graphics on Mario Sunshine 64 they look nearly identical. FOr nintendo the graphics are good enough.

Judge for yourself. here is a side by side comparison

http://kotaku.com/gaming/clips/super-mar...

The fact is the Wii isnt made to be a graphical powerhouse. Its made to be an inexpensive alternative with new gameplay interactivity.

Now, it is capable of producing some good graphics. But, the wii seems to be plagued my mini games and ports of older games like RE4 and okami to name a few. So, the developers know if they can put a game out thats fun and doesnt look next gen it will sell anyway. I think the only good looking games will come from Nintendo. And they are so simple that they will never be groundbreaking. I love the wii and I play it a lot but you can't expect it to be something its not. The reason it sold so good is because they didnt put alot of power under the hood.

Games like Call Of Duty 4 and Unreal tournament 3 require way to many resourses to function on the wii. The wii isnt made for tha type of gaming. The graphics of the wii will eventually get pushed to be better and better. But, as I said the wii has a main problem. The problem is it perceived as a family or young childs system. So, why make mature graphic intensive games for a console that sdoesnt have a big market for it. I mean look at Manhunt 2. The wii sales were abysmal. I think it sold around 19,000 copies world wide. The market for those games just isnt there.

@Additional Details

I agree with you 100%. The developers dont need to psuh the boundaries on graphics because there isnt a market for it. The whole thought behind the wii is you dont need great graphics to have a great story or a great game. Unfortunatley, us Wii owners will just have to deal with the fact the wii is a system with 75% mini games and reamkes from last gen systems. Other than Nintendo exclusives there is really nothing to look forward too.

Look at the video I posted and you will see the wii graphics for Mario galaxy are exactly the same as N64 graphics for Mario Sunshine.

Why dont they make the graphics better?

Wii game development is still young. It takes some time. When playstation came out, the graphics wasn't that great either. That is why there is PS3 and beyond to handle the graphics side more than gameplay. I bought the Wii more so for the gameplay than the graphics and watching how far the software developers can push the Wii.

Why dont they make the graphics better?

"I know the wii could produce better graphics than the original xbox but the game makers wont utilize the graphics why?"

Because they want to be able to make games cross-platform, and a game with Wii graphics on 360 or PS3 would be considered "crap" by their fanbase. So they have to make it cross-platform with the PS2 (which isn't all bad, considering the install base of the PS2). Thus, PS2 graphics.

What graphics card can i get for my computer?

i have a HP Pavilion Desktop PC (A6009N)

with vista home premium.im wanting a new graphics card becouse i play guidlwars alot and the frame rate it about 25 fps(kinda chugy) so i thought it would be a good time to get a graphics card for my comp but im not sure whats commpadible with my computer.i tryed calling hp costumer service and i dont think the guy understud what i was asking him.he kept tellign me what was in the computer for graphics but i told him i want to get a new graphics card for it.tryed some searchs but i didnt come up with anything.i just want to get the right card for my computer.

What graphics card can i get for my computer?

well it depends on your power supply and budget. But since your comp is new enough to handle Vista, i would suggest

buying this card if you are on a budget:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...

and this one if you are not:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.as...

Newegg is a very trusted site for computer parts, i have used it many times and it is great!

Either of these cards would boost your performance to max on guild wars. and either of them will last for at least 4-5 years without being completely outdated. The first one will handle any game that has been made or will be made in the near future with med-high settings.

the second one will handle absolutly ANYTHING with complete maxed out setting no matter the game.

Hope this info helped!

What graphics card can i get for my computer?

Nvidia !

What graphics card can i get for my computer?

an ATI grafic card

What graphics card can i get for my computer?

more then likely you have a pci express slot i have an pci express ATI radion 1300 pro not a bad card its inexpensive works good with medal of honor and BF2

What graphics card can i get for my computer?

Ok if your a big time gamer you want a graphics card with 512mb memory. (they are expensive though). But a 256mb graphics card will do you fine for most all gaming (and are much cheaper %26lt;$70 on sale). The two different types are PCI and APG. If your computer is less than a few years old it will support the newer technology APG. So go for an APG graphics card. ATI or nVidia!

What graphics card can i get for my computer?

What italianman said. Dont get one so beefy that the power supply wont support it or your third tier cpu will bottleneck it.

I usually go to www.newegg.com They have a lot of feedback and people know what is good and bad generally .

What graphics card can i get for my computer?

it looks like your motherboard has a pci express x16 slot so really any video card that will fit inside of that. you should crack open your case and look for a wattage. then go to http://www.extreme.outervision.com/power... that site will give you a calculation of how much wattage you would need (include the graphics card you would want to get) in the calculation to make sure you power supply will handle it. answer all those questions on the site as well as possible and give it some margin of error. and thats about all you need to know.

What graphics card can i get for my computer?

I have a Pavilion m7580n and it was with Windows XP on it when I've bought it. I installed Vista on it and I've got a lot of problems with the graphic card drivers (for nVidia 7300LE). In the end I've bought an ATI Radeon 1650 Pro pcie and since then I had no problems with it. So if you're on Vista, I would recomend only the newest video cards on the market, otherwise, you'll have drivers compatibility problems.

What graphics card can i get for my computer?

look at nvdia

well, i think you can get geforce 8600 gt or 8600 gts. it's better than all you mention above. ( since you want to play game i suggest get geforce and not ati radeon 2600 xt because ati driver is not good now)

Looking for graphics card for $50-$200 plz help?

get one that meets all your requirements

Looking for graphics card for $50-$200 plz help?

I recommend personally a 8series graphics card... investing in a 7series or less is a waste of money because they won't support DirectX10... go for the 8500....

Looking for graphics card for $50-$200 plz help?

I dont know the FPS you'd get with the cards but....

www.tigerdirect.com

Cheapest prices I've found anywhere (including other sites and retail stores). Go to the Video Cards section and you can narrow your search by many categories using the left side menu or whatever you wish to call it. Very very good site. You'll want to a PCI Express card if your computer has PCI Express slot. If not then you'll want to go with a AGP card as long as your computer has a AGP slot. If you computer doesnt have either get one for a PCI slot. Your computer will have a PCI slot, if it doesnt then its WAY to old to be playing those games. Anyway, most important things. Look at the core speed (example: 550 MHz) and the memory speed (example: 800 MHz) thats how fast your graphic card works, Another very important thing is memory. If your going to play more modern games. The recommended requirement for some of the newest game is 256MB (minimum is 128MB). However for a graphics card that will serve you will for years to come get a 512MB card. My dad bought a XFX Geforce 6600 512MB video card from TigerDirect and it easily plays Doom 3 on the highest quality setting (Ultimate i think its called, havent played it in a while). XFX is an extremely good brand. For example, they take the newest Nvidia Cards, and they overclock them. The Geforce 8800 Ultra that was overclocked by Nvideo. Has been overclocked even farther by XFX. Whatever is the ultimate card on the market, they take it and make it even better. Definately a great company.

Looking for graphics card for $50-$200 plz help?

One of those cards is AGP? I assume you have PCI-Express?

Try this:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductLis...

You can get the 8600GT(bottom of page) with faster clock speed and DDR3 memory instead of the 8500GT's DDR2 for the same price. The 8500GT is a lot cheaper here too! A lot of other nice cards there too.

Looking for graphics card for $50-$200 plz help?

1st, I noticed you had an AGP card and a PCI-Express card listed. These are two different types of graphics cards. Your motherboard can only support one or the other. I can't tell by the info that you gave me which type your motherboard supports. The video card that you have now is built into the motherboard. Of the cards listed, the GeForce 7600 GS is the best.

Here is a link to the benchmarks.

http://www.techpowerup.com/reviews/Zotac...

First, find out what type of video card your system supports.

You can get it here for $75. They sell both the AGP and PCI-Express versions.

Good luck.

Rainbow six: vegas, vista or graphics card problem?

So i installed rainbow six vegas on my computer which had all the recommendations except for the graphics card, but i run it anyways, with a stock geforce 6100 graphics card. I install it and everything is fine then the recommendation list comes up and it, again, says what i already know the graphics card is not good enough. I run the program everythign works fine its just my graphics card is to slow to run so it runs very badly.

I uninstall the game because i didnt think i was going to get a new graphics card. Well, next day i go get a new card geforce 8500gt, what i know now is a crappy card. I install the game once again and get all the updates, liek before and, this time ill click the the game on teh desktop or any other place, and the update thing come thing comes up real quick then quits out, and the mouse will have a cd thing and nothing will happen

I thought it was a graphics card so i take it out and it still doesnt work. I got a new graphics card 7600gt still doesnt work

Rainbow six: vegas, vista or graphics card problem?

Did you install the drivers of your graphic card for Vista? Is the game compatible with windows vista? Try to install the proper drivers for windows vista and check if the game is compatible with windows vista.

Video / graphics card upgrade 4 laptop?

so a few questions, but none of you have to answer all of them.

i have a few games, but my graphics card is weak (128MB), so I'm trying to upgrade the graphics %26amp; RAM for less lag.

if you know any other methods / upgrades to lessen lag during gameplay, they would be greatly appreciated.

1

is it possible to change %26amp; upgrade a laptop's video card at all? I really don't want to have to get an external card.

2

I'm going to be geting a RAM upgrade from 0.5 GB, to 1.5 GB, will the motherboard / CPU let me dedicate more RAM to the graphics when i enter the BIOS screen? or do i have to do something a little more complex?

my laptop is the Compaq Presario v2000.

anything that will lessen the lag and / or let me play a game on more than just minimum graphics mode i would really like to hear, because it just sucks playing a game that never stops being choppy.

Thnks!

Video / graphics card upgrade 4 laptop?

1. possibly. It's a whole lot easier to upgrade a desktop pc than a laptop, since things are more standardized and there's more physical space. If you have an nvidia or ati card, there's a reasonable chance you can upgrade it. Call the manufacturer.

Don't think there's such a thing as an external graphics card.

2. if you don't have an nvidia/ati card, and have an intel or "on board" card that you give your ram to, the games won't run much faster.

the amount of ram on a graphics card is only a small part of the story. It's more about their processing power and the features they support. graphics cards are kind of like mini computers all by themselves, just to process all the intense 3d graphics of your games. More ram will allow for nicer textures, but rendering 3d models and applying effects won't really be affected by a ram upgrade.

by the sounds of things you just have a basic intel "card" that you're going to be stuck with. This is the main drawback of laptops - gaming.

As for lessening lag (assuming you mean graphical slowdown, rather than bad ping/network connection), some graphics settings have more of an impact than others. anti aliasing and dynamic lighting are hard work on a graphics card, while things like world and character details aren't so bad. Try increasing one value at a time (slow, I know, but you'll learn what impacts performance and how to get the best graphics/frame rate combination)

Onboard graphics better then my fx 5200 card ?

i have a fx 5200 graphics card with 128 mb memory %26amp; with my onboard graphics i can set it up to 256 %26amp; i have 1gb of ram installed, So my question is is my onboard graphics gonna serve me better then my fx 5200 graphics card ??

Onboard graphics better then my fx 5200 card ?

The onboard graphics may be faster (depending upon whether it's a slow Intel chipset or something like GeForce 6100 which is becoming pretty common) but it's generally better to have a seperate card and not lose system memory.

If your onboard video is Intel, go with the FX5200 until you can get a better card (something like a 7600GT)

Onboard graphics better then my fx 5200 card ?

5200 is much much better. The onboard will take away from your system memory (shared).

Does the Nintendo Wii have better graphics than the Microsoft XBox (Not the Microsoft XBox 360)?

I was just wondering, does the Nintendo Wii have better graphics than the original Microsoft X-Box (not the Microsoft XBox 360)? I know that the Sony Playstation 3 has better graphics than the Microsoft XBox 360, and the Microsoft XBox 360 has better graphics than the Nintendo Wii, but does the Nintendo Wii at least have better graphics than the original Microsoft X-Box?

Comparing the games that have the best graphics, in both consoles, I saw that the Nintendo Wii barely had better graphics, but I could be wrong. If the Nintendo Wii has worse graphics, that would be the first 7th generation console to have worse graphics, than a 6th generation console, and that would be extremely sad. Hopefully, that is not the case...

Does the Nintendo Wii have better graphics than the Microsoft XBox (Not the Microsoft XBox 360)?

I'm pretty sure that the wii has better graphics. i got the wii like a week ago and i think it does look better. i mainly only play the zelda game. i got my wii from http://www.doiop.com/wiii

Does the Nintendo Wii have better graphics than the Microsoft XBox (Not the Microsoft XBox 360)?

No.

Does the Nintendo Wii have better graphics than the Microsoft XBox (Not the Microsoft XBox 360)?

The reason the graphics aren't as "spectacular" as the other consoles, is basically because of the price. They decided to make the graphics lesser, but make the gameplay and interactivity much higher. Still, the Wii has nice graphics.

Compared to the Xbox, I would say it is about 10-25 percent better than the Xbox in graphics. Not much better, but enough so you can tell the difference between the two.

Does the Nintendo Wii have better graphics than the Microsoft XBox (Not the Microsoft XBox 360)?

hey,

i have both and the wii has better graphics.

hope i helped

No, not really. It's about the same as the original X-Box, and far less than any other of the new Generation platforms. I believe that it even uses the same graphics card as the GameCube, actually. What you pay for with the Wii is the unique gameplay; no other system offers the control, activity and challange that the Wii does. I mean, with what other console can you wave the remote around madly and actually achieve anything other than an armache? As for graphics - sure, they're okay. (And it helps that the games such as Red Steel and Zelda: Twilight Princess were made specifically for the Wii, so their graphics are as good as the Wii can get.) But for fun-factor -- waaaay above any other New Gens.

Does the Nintendo Wii have better graphics than the Microsoft XBox (Not the Microsoft XBox 360)?

No the Wii has graphics like a normale Xbox when the xbox360

has next gen graphics For example Gears of WAR when the best graphiced game on wii is zelda and it is the same as the game cubes graphics of zelda

Does the Nintendo Wii have better graphics than the Microsoft XBox (Not the Microsoft XBox 360)?

wii does have better graphics than ps2 and xbox

Does the Nintendo Wii have better graphics than the Microsoft XBox (Not the Microsoft XBox 360)?

the original xbox has better graphics for real, no kidding. i've played excite truck and far cry for the wii and it looked horrible. the far cry for the xbox is way better than the wii version, i've played both versions. here check out why the wii sucks:

Does the Nintendo Wii have better graphics than the Microsoft XBox (Not the Microsoft XBox 360)?

Depends on the game. I have zelda and it does.

Does the Nintendo Wii have better graphics than the Microsoft XBox (Not the Microsoft XBox 360)?

Nintendo Wii's graphics and sound are not "godly or heavenly" amazing, but they are indeed better than normal. Take a look at the Need for speed: Carbon and Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess ictures, they aern't that bad, but aern't that good. Depending on how you feel, I would say that the graphics aren't that much of a difference. Try a demo and you can see if you like it.

Does the Nintendo Wii have better graphics than the Microsoft XBox (Not the Microsoft XBox 360)?

yes and no. If a developer is lazy then the Wii's graphics are not better than the original Xbox. However, when a game is built from the ground up the results are absolutely fantastic. I have yet to see an Xbox game look nearly as good as Super Mario Galaxy. And keep in mind, the Wii is twice as powerful as a Gamecube and the Gamecube game Resident Evil 4 was probably the best looking game of last-generation.

Does the Nintendo Wii have better graphics than the Microsoft XBox (Not the Microsoft XBox 360)?

Let me start by saying that this soccer dude cat really hates the Wii so he may not be the most reliable source of info. Far Cry on Wii may not have been very good but that does not make the system bad. Why don't you look at the reviews on NBA 07 for PS3 b/c if a bad game makes the system suck than PS3 is in real danger. But to answer the question, I have both an Xbox and the Nintendo Wii and graphics are certainly better on the Wii. Red Steel Looks great and if you've actually seen L.O.Z on GC and Wii, It is easy to tell which is better and it is the Wii version. Many developers are eager to work on games for the Wii and as they become more familiar with the software the games will begin to really look and play great. Developers and a fan base are what will help a system sink or swim. PS2 did not have amazing graphics but b/c of the support it was able to outshine the rest.

Installing a Graphics Card (Few Questions)?

I have to install a graphics card but before I do it, I want to make sure I do everything perfect because I do not want to have to buy another computer. Here are my questions:

閳?How do you "ground" something to prevent static electricity from ruining your motherboard?

閳?When installing my graphics card, do I put the graphics card in then install the drivers or vice-versa?

閳?Do I disable my onboard graphics BEFORE or AFTER I install my new graphics card?

If I can have a step by step answer for the installation, that'd be great! Thanks in advanced.

~Ragtimesolo

Installing a Graphics Card (Few Questions)?

Hold the card in the metal part, NOT the contacts, but what's gonna be on the computer case, and then touch the case of the computer, all the devices will now be grounded. Make sure you install it right there and then though, cause you can generate electricity by just moving. Also, try to continue to touch the case while putting the card in it's slot. Now, the drivers are installed AFTER you put the video card in. The proper installation for a video card is this:

1. Turn off and unplug your computer.

2. Open the computer, and ground yourself before touching any components.

3. Slide the card carefully into it's slot.

4. Plug in the power cable to the video card (if available)

5. Plug your monitor into the video card.

6. Replace the case cover, and plug your computer back in.

7. Turn it on.

8. Go into the BIOS and disable onboard video.

9. Save and reboot.

10. Log into Windows and install necessary drivers.

Installing a Graphics Card (Few Questions)?

The whole static electricity thing is pretty rare, I've never seen it happen. But just in case all you have to do is touch a piece of metal like that of the computer case that isn't painted. It will discharge any built up electricity on you.

Then make sure your computer is off and wait for the motherboard light to stop glowing.

Plug in your new graphics card and then boot up the system.

Uninstall the old graphics card drivers, install the new ones, then reboot and turn off the on board card. It's pretty hard to screw up installing a graphics card.

Installing a Graphics Card (Few Questions)?

Touch a radiator or tap first.

It generally doesn't matter, but check the installation instructions for the card.

If you need to disable them (usually, installing a graphics card will autodisable them), then do it before.

Installing a Graphics Card (Few Questions)?

The cheapest way to ground your equipment is to buy a wrist bracelet that you put on your wrist and attach to your case.

I would install the card first, The OS will recognize the new hardware and then walk you through the installation.

Disable your integrated graphics before installation or you might have conflicts.

Good luck.

Installing a Graphics Card (Few Questions)?

Ragtime, these instructions come with the vid card! To ground yourself, to rid yourself of static electricity, you simply touch the metal frame of your computer. Do this a few times while installing card,(of course you probably won't be able to help it, as your hands will frequently touch the metal frame while installing! LOL!). I believe with Winblow's you should install the drivers first, as Windoze will try to install one of it's 'generic fit's all' drivers. Then you'll have a conflict,(Winbloze: "Which driver do I use?"). Follow the instructions with the vid card!

Installing a Graphics Card (Few Questions)?

What a bunch of retards.

Ok, first off, as soon as you touch the case to open it any static charge will be gone. There is almost no threat anyway.

Secondly, you do not have to disable your integrated graphics in the bios. Just plug the card in and attach the monitor. It will do it automatically for you.

Thirdly, the drivers wont install unless you have already put the card in, and windows will not try and install some driver automatically. It will just say its detected a new generic graphics card.

There is nothing to it.

Does the graphics accelerator card enhance my current graphics card?

Does the graphics card accelerator card plug into my existing graphics card or replace ot all together? Will a graphics card accelerator make photos I have scanned in load faster in my photoshop (Adobe Photoshop Elements 3)? What would be the best way to get this to happen? My computer has s ton of hard disk space (+100 GIG) a 1 GIG of RAM and currently has an "INVIDIA 5500" graphics card.

Does the graphics accelerator card enhance my current graphics card?

graphics accelerator card is only another name for graphics card. The graphics card does only the output to the computer monitor and it will NOT load your photos faster in photoshop. This is the job of the CPU (Central Processing Unit: Intel Pentium, AMD Athlon etc.).

The best way to get this happen is to get a new computer. Another suggestion is to get a new motherboard and a new CPU, but then you have to take care of the compatibility of the RAM and the graphics card.

Does the graphics accelerator card enhance my current graphics card?

i'm no hip on computers....sorry., did you make the same mistake i did, and bought a DELL.....you should have gone to circuit city, or best buy, or office depotl.....

My graphics card is totally screwing up, CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME?

Every single program's buttons and colors are totally screwing up because of my STUPID GRAPHICS CARD, the nVidia GeForce 7300 LE!!! I had posted a question about problems with the graphics in my Microsoft Word 2007, but now it seems that it is EVERY SINGLE PROGRAM that I use. I don't want to have to replace my graphics card because I don't have the money, so can someone tell me how to fix this problem?

I also downloaded all of the latest drivers from www.nvidia.com, but my graphics card is still totally screwed up. I really need help with this problem!!!

My graphics card is totally screwing up, CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME?

Hey man,

Your not the first! I learned some new and valuable things about the newer NVidia chipsets and the associated drivers recently. To make a long story short, trash the new drivers (full uninstall and delete) and look for 2005 or 2006 drivers. Try to find them from an NVidia reseller like PNY and if the card is still good, I bet you get back functionality, I did and I found drivers even older still. My take on this is that the new drivers are written with a focus on Vista, and the just "happen" to screw up in the other versions of older Windows. Sounds screwy, I know but with crappy graphics now, what do you have to lose?

And, yes it might be defective or malfunctioning, but try this first!

Good Luck

My graphics card is totally screwing up, CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME?

there is no solution apart from to get a new card or buy a cheap 2nd hand one i thinj so any way sorry i cant help you further.

My graphics card is totally screwing up, CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME?

That card should have no problem running Windows and everyday applications, you can try to set your card to default settings but the driver change should of fixed it. Another thing to try is to revert to older drivers, the ones that came with the disk preferably or on Nvidia's website where you download the new drivers on the left is an option to browse the archives for older drivers. You can try repairing Windows with your system disk which will not erase your data, and if none of those work. Try putting in an older card, and if the that fixes the problem save up that money cause you need a new video card. If it was just purchased you can contact the manufacturer and let them know about the card, and that your angry and want them to fix it. Most likely they will fix the card if there is something wrong, its cheaper than buying a new one. Mike

My graphics card is totally screwing up, CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME?

Sounds to me like you do not have enough memory to run the card. Check the instructions that came with the graphics card to see how much memory is required to run the card ,check to see how much memory your computer has . Go out and purchase a memory card that will allow you to have more than you need to run the graphics card all your problem should disappear. If that does not work try removing programs until you find the one that is not compatible with your graphics card and causing the conflict. It may take time but in this way you will eventually solve your problem.

Graphics Card for Crysis?

Hey i own Crysis, but with my graphics card (geforce 8500) it lags a lot. What would be the graphics card that could handle anything Crysis through at it. I know about the Geforce 8800 but i dont know if that is the absolute best graphics card. What would be the best graphics card for Crysis?

P.S i have a budget of 500

Graphics Card for Crysis?

The graphics card that can handle anything Crysis can throw at it hasn't been invented yet, check back in 6 months.

Graphics Card for Crysis?

Crysis is too powerful for a 360 or a playstation 3. You need to get the TOP OF THE LINE graphics card. And I mean, go to ATI's website and organize by price, and buy the most expensive one.

Graphics Card for Crysis?

Buy the world's largest super computer. Sorry but really it's hard to build a machine that can truley maintain Crysis.

GRAPHICS cARD OR MORE rAM?

If I get a graphics card will it speed up my computer since my graphic card is intergrated into a P4 processers and uses up ram in order to run. Will I notice the difference with a new graphics card or will i have to get ram to notice the difference. I am planing to get 2 gb more to my 512mb i already have. But which should i choose. Also what do i look at when buying a graphics card. I am a noob. What does the 512mb or 256mb mean on the graphic card. is more better. What is a good graphics card for not a very expensive price. like less then $150. Which brand should i pick. Nvidia or Ati

GRAPHICS cARD OR MORE rAM?

With Windows Vista, more RAM and better video card would make a huge difference. With Windows XP, more RAM will help a bit.

I'd pick Nvidia. But if you are thinking about Windows Vista in your future, then look for a Windows Vista ready video card... you just might want the WOW. But aim for 2GB of RAM; and 512MB of RAM on the video card.

Good luck and Happy Computing!

GRAPHICS cARD OR MORE rAM?

get both

GRAPHICS cARD OR MORE rAM?

kinda yes. I'd get both, upgrade Ram to 1Gig then go get a 512 Mb graphics card. take your pick there both good brands. games these days like elder scrolls require at least 1gig of ram at least 512 graphic card and something like 2 or 3 Ghz processor.

GRAPHICS cARD OR MORE rAM?

Hey mate, from what you have mentioned buying a graphics card is only going to improve the screen resolution and not really add much on to speeding up your pc. since you have 512 it might be likely that it is already using up 2 slots (normally motherboard only has 2 slots for RAM and ideally you divide the RAM by 2 and put 2 RAM modules.) So from this assumption i would recommend buying 2 x 1 gb RAM modules and putting it in and you will really be able to notice the difference. As if you are just surfing the net and not really playing games or any high end graphics application user, a graphic card is not really going to do much good but you can get a 128 mb one if you really want to put it in.

Cheers

Matty

GRAPHICS cARD OR MORE rAM?

If you have tried some games, and your onboard can't handle it then yea, get a new graphics card, and also getting more ram will help alot.

Your motherboard may have already got the RAM slots filled with 2 256mb modules. You want to take these out and get 2 x 512mb or 2 x 1gb modules.

But depending how old your PC is your motherboard may only support DDR ram and a max of 2gb ram or something.

And the 256mb and 512mb with graphics cards is slightly different, it means the amount of memory.

The more memory the better it plays on righer resolutions if you have a computer that runs at 1680x1050 or below you should be fine with 256mb or video ram but if your playing on higher than that go with 512mb

(See what your running by right clicking on desktop, click properties and go to the settings tab, bottom left will tell you wat resolution your using at the moment, and getting a 512mb one wont do any harm, just it probly will never all get used, so 256mb will be just as good in this instance)

ATi and nVidia are both good brands. Though if your looking for a directX 10 card then i suggest you go for the nVidia series, but for directx 9 ATi are cheaper.

For $150 you could probly get either the DirectX9 ATi X1950 or the DirectX10 nVidia 8600GS.

But thats just an opinion, and im sure others may say different.

GRAPHICS cARD OR MORE rAM?

graphic card WILL NOT speed up the computer! Graphic Card only will makes the video or picture become clear and when you play video(some) and 3d games it will be more 3D. if u want to speed up the computer why don't upgrade the processor instead of upgrading the ram. Processor will make a major performance improve. If graphic card, Nvidia i WILL RECOMMEND, it's better compare to ATI (if buying a same price product).

Right....so what does Maximus Graphics Memory actually mean? It can go up to 224mb? or what the hell...? I mean on my desktop (pc) says nothing about "Maximus Graphics Memory". It only says 512MB...(Radeon x1600 pro). So..what is the actual ammount of memory that I have? I mean..i dont get this xD...could someone explain thesse things to me...(Its a laptop btw) I can play WoW pretty well...

Pc booting problem due to graphics?

I have an AMD athlon XP 1800+(palomino) on N-force based Asus A7N266-vm motherboard with onboard graphics(award phoenix bios etc), 512 MB DDR RAM(kingmax DDR-400).power supply is 400W (powersafe) Additionally I have the following components 80GB HDD,a graphics card(leadtek 6600LE with 256 MB RAM), samsung 740n MONITOR, DVD ROM,Combo Drive and DVD Writer (recently added).

Since last six months I have been facing problem with agp display card.

THE Screen would go blank after some time of usage and monitor LED would keep on blinking. After reboot it would work properly for sometime.Hence I had switched back to on-board graphics.I did this in Bios by changing the primary VGa BIOs(setting inside PCi configuration tab in BIOS) to onboard graphics.

The same problem recently occured while working on-onboard graphics, the PC froze .Since then my pc on powering up shows blank screen with the hard disk led continuously on.On two occasions I heard one long beep and 2 short beeps indicating a graphics memory problem.how Do I get to change to AGP graphics?(suggest keyboard combination since the screen does not show anythihg regardless of whether the monitor signal input cable is connected to either of vGA ports on the back). I Tried removing the battery and shorting the terminal to reset bios

Where could the problem be? Power supply? motherboard graphics? Ram?.

IF any hardware is faulty should I just replace that particular part or should I go for upgrade?(which means that I will have to dump/waste other components that are working properly)

please help.

Pc booting problem due to graphics?

the only thing i can think of is that there was a graphics driver error due to having the onboard graphics driver as well as the leadtek graphics card drivers not being uninstalled...i had a smiliar problem when i changed my graphics card out without uninstalling the drivers for the previous one.

Pc booting problem due to graphics?

It could be becoz of virus or some boot files are corrupt or anti-virus loaded in pc takes time to scan the system or the system needs clean-up by cleaning the temp files and cookies in system.

Can i change the min graphics memory on my mobile Intel card? How?

My card is a 915GM/GMS,910GML express chipset family graphics card. After installing an extra 512MB of DDR2 Ram on my computer I changed the Graphics memory usage in the BIOS to 128mb - it was on 64mb. When the computer is unused the "Intel(R) Graphics Media Accelerator Driver for Mobile Report" indicates that 10mb is used for the graphics card. When playing higher - end games such as NFS Most Wanted I check again and the card is using around 30mb. Seeing as the computers performance is becoming a problem in these games (framerate is very slow), I would like to manually change the min graphics memory from 8mb to like 120mb or something to see if the performance improves. No games such as Battlefront2 or San andreas have utilised more than 30mb of the graphics memory either. If anyone knows how to change these settings please let me know.

Can i change the min graphics memory on my mobile Intel card? How?

DON'T TRY 2 CHANGE,IT MAY MAKE UR MOTHERBOARD UNUSABLE,BETTER BUY A GRAPHIC CARD, GO FOR NVIDIA GE FORCE FX 5200 [256 BIT]. AROUND INR.3500 OR IN USD.$90.

THIS IS A GOOD ONE,EVEN I M ALSO HAVING IT, IT WORKS LIKE AS UR PLAYING ON A GAME CONSOLE.

VISIT:

IN THIS THERE IS ONLY 128 BIT MODEL SHOWING,BUT IN MARKET 256 BIT MODEL IS ALSO AVAILABLE.

Graphics cards fps?

Hi

I currently have a nvidia geforce 6150se nforce 430 onboard graphics. When i play brothers in arms it almost shudders and movements aren't smooth. I thought it was the fps and as i am going to buy a new graphics anyway so what graphics should i get that is quite cheap, under 鎷?0

is the fps determined by the speed of the graphics card

and is this a good card?

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sapphire-X512MB-...

is it woth getting one up

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sapphire-RADEON-...

or is this 1 the best

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sapphire-Radeon-...

What should i go for and are any of these actually any good?

Thanks

Graphics cards fps?

hi mate

these are good cards and will be a massive improvement over the onboard nvidia 6150 graphics

fps or frames per second is determined by many factors but the core clock and memory speeds are the main factors, especially the core clock as this is the brains of the card or the gpu(graphics processor unit) and a fast clock speed will mean faster rendering and thus faster frame rates

memory speed is also a important factor as the speed of the memory determines the speed at which the information is delivered to the gpu from the video memory

other imporatnt parts and specs of the graphics card is the memory bandwidth, this is the speed at which the graphic card communicates with the rest of the pc,and also pixel pipelines(or stream processes in the latest cards),the more pixel pipelines the better the card

also pixel and shader model(or also known as "shader model") is a factor when buying a gaming card, pixel and shader models start at model 1.0,and 2.0.then the latest cards use shader model 3.0 and the latest is shader model 4.0 and 4.1

the best of the above cards is the radeon 3650 as this is shader model 4.1 compliant, however in my opinion you would be best going for the radeon HD2600XT ,this is a excellent card and has a very good clock speed of 800mhz(fast) and a 1400mhz memory clock speed, these are seriously fast specifications, and the 2600xt is also a great multimedia card aswell

as for the 2600pro,allthough this is a decent card its nowhere near as good as the other two and will stutter were the other two fly through games and applications

my opinion:go for the HD2600XT..awesome card and lightning fast speed..great buy !

any problems let me know

good luck mate !

Graphics cards fps?

those are all nice, you will definitely notice a horrendous difference in frame rate, because on board graphics aren't meant to run games at all. when deciding, look at which has the highest gpu clock and shader clock. these measurements are more important than the memory size.
