Problem wid graphics driver on win xp sp2, error code 10, tried reinstalling but no use. plz help.?

I am using XP service pack 3 on my p2.4, 256 mb, intel845gvsr machine.

after 2 or 3 days of installation my graphics driver started driving me nuts... I think driver is having its own mood...it works at its own will...may work sometimes ...and at other time I am left with a 4bit picture.

I have tried re-installing graphics driver but to no avail....( graphics driver were automatically taken during installation )...and even after uninstallation ther automatically get reinstall without any cd...but still graphics card do not works..

i hav tried disabling-enabling..sometimes it works and corrects my problem but doesnt make sure that next time it will work..

ha..one more thing when i re-install windows...graphics are perfect for the instance and then the story begins again..

plz help me..

i dont want to try another version..as its pretty cool..

waitin for ur responce with a solution.

See first if see the microsft site there is no service pack 3 available for the windows xp and if you install the windows xp with service pack 2 and drivers supplied by mother board it will work fine if you update you winxp.

The software that is being installed is not orginal one what is that software it contains a bundle software with office 2003 and yahoo messanger and winzip and other stuff if you see and it dosent ask any key while installing the os. so that is reason you are not able to install the garaphics drivers.

Have you tried using "other" video cards? is your video card on board? I am assuming that if you really tried installing the driver of your video card, and it still doesn't work. Then the video card that you are using is defective. But first try these...

1. If you have an extra video card that works then try installing it into your PC. ( You could borrow from your friends if you want to)

2. If you have installed the "extra" video card and it worked properly. then your video card is really defective.

Try these first, so that you'll know whether if your video card is defective or not before replacing it okay? i

what's the make of your AGP Card? or r u using the onboard one?

If it is the onboard one, plug in a new card and then check (do not forget to disable the onboard card from the BIOS)
