Graphics card- Fill me in.?

This is my graphics card: Intel(R) Graphics Media Accelerator Driver for Mobile Report

I'm pretty sure its the basic suck graphics card. Some of the games that I try to play always complain about not meeting sys. req. for graphics. How do I tell which graphic card is better than another? What about laptop cards vs desktop is there a difference? How do I know if I can upgrade my pc card? What should I look for when upgrading graphics? I don't know anything about them so if you could just fill me in...

Sorry you're out of luck. In your laptop the video chip is integrated in the motherboard chip and cannot be upgraded. Buy a new laptop or if you want gaming performance build yourself a desktop.

Well on the desktop cards you have the slightly old AGP slot and the all new PCI Express, most likely you need an AGP, so a decent one compared to what you have would be something like...A Radeon 9600+, just make sure its AGP and it'll work. Then you'll need to install it, but i'll leave that to you =P

ok, you need ot tell us what your computer is, and then we can tell you if you need a PCI-E card (probably) or an AGP card (possibly

butwhat card is right for you depends on your computer.

first, if this is in a laptop you can't upgrade it. and laptop cards are almost the same as desktop cards (USUALLY) if they have the same model number eg an 8600gt m is almost the same as an 8600gt. just probably the M is a little slower so it's cooler in the laptop.

now back to your computer.

if you have integrated graphics you probably don't have an awesome computer, and putting in an 8800gtx would be a waste, so what i suggest, making assumptions is, that an 8600gts would be not only an appropriatte price, but also a fitting power level

but that's just a guess for a recent computer.

if your computer is a few years old (4), and has integrated graphics (which indicates a cheap and slow computer) then it's really going to be a lost cause, put an 8600gt in, but it's going to be an overkill for it. if you want a gaming machine, you'll have to get a new computer. email me and i can send you some good specs for a gaming PC, or if you want a laptop (not recommended) the ASUS G1 is probably the best one out

As stated by the others if its a laptop you're out of luck, but if its a desktop then we have to know what it is. A model number would be best then we could look it up and give you some suggestions. If you just want to make your machine faster tehn you have lots of options. If you want to game then we will need to know what you're interested in playing. In today's gaming world it takes more than a good video card. The new games are becoming very processor dependant and you need to have dual-core processor and a good video card to have an enjoyable gaming experience. So if you can, give us the model number of your machine.
