Installing graphics cards on laptops?

Hi, I'm in need to obtain dedicated graphics card so that i can start using multi media applications with quality graphics output. I'm currently using the onboard graphics, which doesn't do the job very well because of its slow performance.

I don't know where to start on the type of graphics card suited for my laptop. My laptop has a PCI-Express graphics bus interface.

Any help would be much appreciated

Installing graphics cards on laptops?

You can see if you computer has onboard or a LNI graphic adapter . It is has a card type video you could contact AATI or nVidiia and see if they make one compatible with your notebook.

If it is onboard you will be stuck with what you have. There are aftermarket vifeo capture and editting card for the mini-PCI slot but I know of no replacement video adapters.
