I have a pc graphics and console graphics!!?

alright so here the deal im confused. y does pc have so many graphics card that have amazing specs that top ps3 graphics specs by like 3-3.5 times!!! shouldnt the games on pc look like computer animated movies?? more realistic, fluid, more detailed and other junk. why is that? does the card make everything else look better and hd or something??

heres proof of stats

ps3

http://www.engadget.com/2006/02/18/plays...

nvidia

http://www.nvidia.com/object/graphics_ca...

please explain these thing to me bcus im not that smart when i comes to technology think thank you

I have a pc graphics and console graphics!!?

haha, so i dont really understand what you're asking. okay, the graphics card in a ps3 is a nvidia rsx video card.. and it's core clock is 550mhz, that means its GPU runs at 550MHz, but its CPU is a 3.2GHz processor from IBM. the ps3's GPU is able to project up to 1080 progressive lines, that's what it's capable of as stated on the source.

where you're looking at for the nvidia gpu site isnt really good, since nvidia only manufactuers the GPU's, not the cards. most gpu's made from nvidia aren't that great. well, for my computer, i run on a nvidia 7300GT, it has a core clock of around 350MHz, and your video card has its own ram to use, in my case its 256mb, which is the same as your ps3. the ps3 has 256mb of GDDR3 VRAM, and 256mb of ram in the main circuit board of the ps3.

actually, your ps3's graphics are much better than many computer's graphics card, because of the core clock...

well, nvidia makes a wide variety of video cards for end user to use so that way people that want to buy those video cards have a choice. but when you're buying a ps3, its not like you're going to choose what kind of video card you're going to have in your ps3 really....

so really, ps3's graphics IS better than mine computer's graphics, at least.

Remote Desktop doesn't display video graphics?

i play a high-end 3D graphics game in a window on my gaming machine.

I use my laptop to "remote" into it and it shows my screen and I have control, great. But it won't show the graphics in the window. Is there a way to view the graphics by selecting an option in my remote software (dameware) or do i have to set my gaming machine to route graphics through onboard resources instead of my graphics card?

i don't care if it's laggy, as long as it can get 1 FPS at least.

Remote Desktop doesn't display video graphics?

3D remoting is purportedly a DX10 feature, but no earlier versions support that.

Remote Desktop doesn't display video graphics?

VNC or remote control software will not display graphics from a 3d game sorry.

Remote Desktop doesn't display video graphics?

No remote desktop software can support 3D graphics, or the playing of movies. The way it has to handle the transmissions to keep a consistent connection makes this impossible.

Do the graphics of and old ps2 differ from the new ps2?

I have an old ps2 that i just got from my friend. After watching game play videos from the internet, i am still having trouble deciphering witch has better graphics (the old, or the new ps2.)

one example would be the DBZ tenkaichi 2 which is one of the games i've seen with intense graphics. does this game's graphics differ from the old and new ps2??

Do the graphics of and old ps2 differ from the new ps2?

There is no difference. The only difference is that the old PS2 has the capability of adding a hard disk drive. Other than that, they are both pretty much the same.

Do the graphics of and old ps2 differ from the new ps2?

are you sure bout that? Bcoz i owned an old ps2 and i had compared it with a fren who owns a new one. The graphic is rather similar. I don't think there's a different in terms of the graphic. perhaps just the size.

Do the graphics of and old ps2 differ from the new ps2?

no, the graphics are still the same.

they both use the emotion engine

PES 2008 Graphics on PC, same as 360 ? Or do they sort of do PS2 job with PES 5 graphics?

Right, I have a 360 but its got the 3 red lights of doom. But I have a decent PC that can can fulfill the requirements of the game. Are the graphics going to be similar to 360 graphics or is it going to be a lot worse. Watched the video's of PES 2008 on 360 looks good, please be same on PC!!!

PES 2008 Graphics on PC, same as 360 ? Or do they sort of do PS2 job with PES 5 graphics?

Well not sure but yeah you're probably right. Although PES is gonna be amazing!

PES 2008 Graphics on PC, same as 360 ? Or do they sort of do PS2 job with PES 5 graphics?

No way! unless you have a PC like the 360 ie.

Graphics card problem geforce 6100?

Ok I have a GeForce 6100 graphics card from nvidia and I think it might be messed up. When I'm in any window(IE, word, ect) stuff will flicker onto the screen(my original window is always there but the stuff flickers on top of it)

Also if I'm playing any type of game my fps is really low...it might load a frame every 2 seconds or so.

I opened my tower case to clean it out(in case that might have been what was wrong) and there was a cable that wasn't plugged into anything, but I don't know what it is coming out of or what it goes to(im not that good with computer hardware).

So, anyone know what my problem is and if it has to do with that cable?

It also takes me 6 or 7 times to turn the computer on. It looks like it will start(fans and lights come on) but nothing ever comes up on the monitor. I don't know if this has anything to do with the graphics problems but its really bothering me.

Graphics card problem geforce 6100?

That picture is too small for me to be able to help you much. Could you describe the cable? (i.e. how many pins and such?)

I CAN tell you that it's a power cable, and probably doesn't need to be plugged into anything if it isn't already (otherwise something would not be working at all).

As far as your flickering, you might need to download new drivers for the card: http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_169.2...

And your FPS is low in games because that's a rock-bottom performance budget card. I wouldn't expect to play anything remotely 3D at a high framerate.

Edit: you should have help via my e-mails now, but I have some advice: CPU does not mean "computer." The CPU is actually a specific part of your computer, namely the processor (it stands for central processing unit).

Graphics card problem geforce 6100?

Sounds like a PSU problem, you sure your feeding enough juice in your PC? Its either that (which I doubt) OR you should get a new video card. Try borrowing a low end PCI-Express video card from your friends or buying one. Your low FPS are a result of a cruddy video card which is integrated onto your motherboard. Get a new videocard - you'll thank yourself later on =D

Do i need a graphics card with direct x and what does direct x do?

I need to know if i need a graphics card with direct x and what does direct x do? All i know about direct x is that it is something about enhancing graphics. So i downloaded direct x. Can i play video game demos like cod4 demo and will it make my graphics better? For some reason i got some demos of games to see if they were cool and then they didnt accept direct x! So i need to know what it is and what it does. and does it give you any viruses? PLEASE I NEED HELP AND I WAS JUST CRYING CAUSE I NEED TO PLAY VIDEO GAMES!!!! AND PLZ LET ME KNOW IF I NEED A GRAPHICS CARD WITH IT PLZ!!!!!

Do i need a graphics card with direct x and what does direct x do?

all graphics cards include a direct x. the newer ones have direct x 10 on them. you can play almost all games with 9 too.

Do i need a graphics card with direct x and what does direct x do?

lol, you HAVE got a graphics card and all you need to do is get an update of direct x which comes with any decent game you buy. But if your computer is really old, you are going to have to get a new graphics card (updated) and replace it with your current one. But this probably will slow down your computer.

Do i need a graphics card with direct x and what does direct x do?

You can only get Direct X10 through Windows Vista. Yes, the graphics do look better on Direct X10 than DirectX9. DirectX9 can handle COD4. To find out which version you have to click the start menu%26gt;run%26gt;dxdiag%26gt;then you see which versions you have. The important thing is your GPU. To find your GPU click control panel%26gt;system%26gt;device manager%26gt; display adapters. Then go NVIDIA's website to see if your graphics card support Direct X10. If it can support Direct X10 that means you can play the game fine. Look at the recommended system requirements at IGN.com

Do i need a graphics card with direct x and what does direct x do?

it may be your computer it might not have a good enough graphics card, its real hard to play games on computers these days with system requirements and stuff. Some computers just arent made to play games on. And yes, you need direct X to play those games. a decent gaming computer might be alotta money too. look at the system requirements on the cod4 box then see what your comp doesnt have and then you might have an idea of whats wrong.

Do i need a graphics card with direct x and what does direct x do?

Direct x wont give you a virus you down load it from Microsoft. Most games require it to run the game. Its a software. Direct x is a program that allows graphics to look better in game however most video cards are compatible with direct X

. Most newer games will have direct x on the disk and will ask you if you need to install it.

When you buy a game you need to make sure that your computer can play the game, its called system specifications. They must be compatible.

Do i need a graphics card with direct x and what does direct x do?

DirectX is a collection of software libraries provided by Microsoft that provides an unified "platform" for games to use for their graphics and sounds.

Many games will require a specific version of DirectX in order for it to work. A newer version is OK as well. DirectX can be downloaded directly from Microsoft's website (http://microsoft.com) just search for "DirectX" and the first link should be to allow you to download DirectX. The latest version of DirectX is 9.0c for all versions of Windows, except for Vista. Vista uses DirectX 10. Most games will work with either DirectX 9 or 10, however a small and growing group of games are appearing that will only work with DirectX 10, so be sure to check those system requirements.

In addition, many games require that your video card have some hardware support for 3d functions. If your card does NOT have any 3d support, then many games, like COD4, will not work. Again, check those system requirements.

Many low end desktop PCs only use an integrated video card solution that does not have any 3d support. Fortunately, many of these PCs can be upgraded by simply buying a new video card. You don't need to spend a lot of money on one - even a modest $100 card should allow you to play most games with lower detail settings.

If you're using a laptop, unfortunately they can't be upgraded. They do make laptops that have powerful graphic cards, but they tend to be very expensive ($4000 or more).

Even if you can't upgrade your computer (either due to hardware or economic reasons) there are still lots of good games out there that don't require 3D, and will work on even today's lowest-end computers. Many of them are also free, or very inexpensive. Happy hunting.

Graphics problem - Initializing old game (Metal Gear Solid)?

Hi

I just installed Metal Gear Solid on my PC and it's an ancient game. I easily have the system requirements but when I first ran it I got a message about the game not being able to run under my graphics card and would use software rendering.

Now when I try to open the game, I get the following message:

"Game crashed during previous initialization, game starting software rendering mode..."

The screen then goes all black like it's opening the program, then it just suddenly closes. No pop-up or anything telling me it has to close.

My graphics card is a crappy laptop one, but the system requirements for this game are like 32mb card and DirectX7. My card is a GeForce Go 6100, not amazing but it should be able to run this game.

Is there any way I can fix this?

Graphics problem - Initializing old game (Metal Gear Solid)?

actually if your gaming on at latop, the problems is your direct x, u need to update, to 9 or 10, its free,,here the site..http://www.softwarepatch.com/windows/dir...

Graphics problem - Initializing old game (Metal Gear Solid)?

"I easily have the system requirements" NO, you don't.

The game is so old it only ran in DOS mode on Windows 95 / 98. Today's Windows versions do not have true DOS built-in, they merely TRY to "emulate MS-DOS" (in Compatibility mode), AND 2000/XP/Vista do NOT allow "direct hardware control" which your game NEEDS.

And of course your hardware and graphics card technology didn't even exist back then, so how could it be compatible with a 13 year old game?

Bottom Line:

DOS games either run on Windows 2000 and newer, OR they don't! You could try FreeDOS or DrDOS, but...

Graphics problem - Initializing old game (Metal Gear Solid)?

Although the poster above has the right idea. His info is actually wrong. As Metal Gear Solid is designed for Windows 95/98.

SADLY. THAT IS THE PROBLEM. Metal Gear Solid WILL NOT work on Windows XP.

The only solution I can give you is install Windows 98. Perhaps you can use a virtualization software for that.

PS. You might try right clicking on the exe file and choose "Windows 98 compability", it might work. Chances are it won't though.

Graphics card question.?

I have a HP Pavilion Slimline s3230, It's a nice PC which takes up very little space, but unfortunately came with a very crappy graphics card. I'm easily confused when it comes to these things, so can anyone recommend a really good graphics card, (512mb minimum) that is small enough to fit in this PC ?

Graphics card question.?

hi gail

this is the main problem with new p.c,s ,manufacturers try to save money by shipping their p.c,s with either onboard/intergrated graphics or budget low end graphic cards

however its not as expensive as you think to upgrade your current graphics solution and decent cards start at as low as 鎷?0

you first need to find out what type of interface your motherboard uses(agp or pci-express),howevr since your p.c is quite new it will support pci-express

here are three of the best pci-express cards around and all are less than 鎷?00

the Asus ATi Radeon HD 3650 256MB (http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Component... a excellent modern card with all the latest features including pixel and shader model 4.1 and direct x 10.1

heres its main specifications.............................

ATI Radeon HD 3650 GPU @ 725MHz

256MB GDDR3 Memory @ 1600MHz

120 Stream Processors

Glaciator Fansink

HDMI output support

PCI-E 2.0 supported

next is the XFX Geforce 8600GT 256MB XXX DDR2(http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Component... and this again supports the lastest shader model 4.1 and direct x 10.1 and also has support for open Gl 2.0

heres it main specs......................................

Chipset ...nVIDIA 8600GT

Cooling.... Fan

Direct x support... OpenGL 2.0, DirectX 10

Dvi output ...2 x Dual Link DVI-I

Gpu speed... 620 MHz

Interface... PCI-Express x16

Memory... 256MB

Memory clock... 1600MHz

Video output ...HDTV out

finally theres the Sapphire Radeon X1950PRO 512MB(http://www.aria.co.uk/Products/Component... this isnt direct x 10 this is the fastest of the three and still one of the best cards around and the best sub 鎷?00 card bar none

heres its main specs......................................

Core clock speed ...580 MHz

Digital video standard... Digital Visual Interface (DVI)

Directx ...DirectX 9.0

Graphics processor / vendor... ATI Radeon X1950 Pro

Interface type... PCI Express x16

Max monitors supported... 2

Max resolution... 2560 x 1600

Memory bus... 256 bit

Memory clock speed ...1.4 GHz

Memory size ...512MB

Memory type ...GDDR3

Opengl ...OpenGL 2.0

Ramdac ...400MHz

Tv interface ...TV out

Video adapter features... ATI CrossFire Technology

Warranty... 1 year RTB

not all these cards have a 512mb memory,as you dont need 512mb for most applications and games, only games that run ultra detail settings really need that much memory

out of the three i would go for the x1950pro,its a awesome card and extremely powerful for its low price, this card will handle any game or application you throw at it

any problems let me know

good luck gail !

Graphics card question.?

nvidia do good graphics cards.

have a look

http://www.nvidia.com/object/geforce_fam...

Graphics card question.?

As far as I can make out from the specs (http://h10010.www1.hp.com/wwpc/uk/en/ho/... your current graphics is onboard (ie. it is integrated into the motherboard), not a discrete card.

The specs also say that the only expansion slot you have is one low-profile PCI slot. Modern graphics cards require at least an AGP slot, or a PCI-Express slot. The only graphics card you could switch to would be limited to very old technology, and would be a downgrade form your onboard graphics.

Unless I've looked up the wrong specs, I'm afraid you're straight out of luck, sorry.

Graphics card question.?

Your PC has the HD 2350 entry level dedicated graphics card. It seems that your PC only takes low profile cards. There are few low profile cards that are more powerful than the HD 2350 in your PC. Consider these:

Graphics Card w/ dual monitors?

Can anyone suggest a good graphics card that can handle two monitors (not duplicating the same image on both) and plays mmo like Second life well? Also can you get a graphics card with a monitor imput and use the onboard monitor imput?

Graphics Card w/ dual monitors?

I have try to use dual monitor and it really easy to configure. I use onboard vga for first monitor, and an agp card for second one. You can configure what image to display on both monitor in Windows Display Properties.

Graphics Card w/ dual monitors?

nivdia gforce 8500

Graphics Card w/ dual monitors?

Dual moniters? Get Dual AK-47s

Graphics Card w/ dual monitors?

NVIDIA

Graphics Card w/ dual monitors?

nvidia 8800 ultra is the best gfx card i think.

Graphics Card w/ dual monitors?

are you on a budget? if you are, just get the 8600 GT because thats more than enough to display dual monitor and play second life at the same time... but if you want to be future proof, i'd go with either the ati 3870 x2 or the nvidea 9800 gx2

Graphics Card w/ dual monitors?

I have a 8600GT...much cheaper if you had a limited budget. Works fine for me. To the other question...I don't see why not.

Graphics Card w/ dual monitors?

Pretty much every graphics card worth mentioning can easily handle dual monitors. As for running Second Life, again any new card with a brand name on it will be more than adequate.

I've never heard of a graphics card with an input, usually inputs are done by seperate video capture cards. It's an entirely different set of hardware required.

Graphics Card w/ dual monitors?

If u want a vga output graphics, it is now difficult to find it. All u can do is buy the DVI to vga connector and plug ur vga cable on it. The 8500gt, 8600gt or gts, 8800, 9600 or 9800 series graphics the the best graphics card.

Graphics Card w/ dual monitors?

nivdia gforce 8500

Graphics Card w/ dual monitors?

well, i would get NVidia 8800 GT and get DVI-VGA converter, but the image quality wont be as good, also 8500 GT comes with dual VGA, =)

hope this answered your question, please put as best answer =)

Graphics driver will not run.?

Ok so I have a dell that has all stuff from the factory and I have a radeon 9025 graphics card. it was setup at my old house just the way it is now but I got a virus and had to reboot the whole system(including the factory graphics card). so I have put the new one in a open slot, uninstalled the old driver and installed the new driver from the ati site but when I plug the monitor into that card the screen is blank and when I plug it into the old slot the screen comes up fine but everythings huge. help please

Graphics driver will not run.?

So you now have two graphics cards in the machine? Generally windows etc will only load initially onto the 'primary' card. So if the original card is still in the system take it out.

From your description when you connect the monitor to the old card it comes up with a picture but everything is huge. I'd say that's because you unistalled its driver so it's using the very limited windows standard driver.

How can I insert graphics in a table so they will NOT appear as attachments when the table is emaile

I do a lot of tables creation for advertising for work, but not being a trained graphics expert I am unsure as to creating those nice looking tables for email marketing purposes. The graphics always look nice, but they appear as attachments when sent by email. I am creating the table in Microsoft Word, inserting chosen graphics and written text, then copying and pasting the completed table into an email to blast out to a couple of thousand clients. Is there another program, other than Word I should use - I have InDesign and the less complicated Microsoft programs - or perhaps - is there another way to insert the graphics? Thanks.

How can I insert graphics in a table so they will NOT appear as attachments when the table is emailed?

copy and paste

How can I insert graphics in a table so they will NOT appear as attachments when the table is emailed?

css code

so, give each table an id tag and in css asign an image for that id so like

.id

{

background-image: url("image.url");

}

so the tag would be,

%26lt;table id="id"%26gt;%26lt;/table%26gt;

How can I insert graphics in a table so they will NOT appear as attachments when the table is emailed?

The reason your images appear as attachments is that's how you are sending them. The minute you send the picture along with the mail, they are attachments.

The emails you get with images are not sending the images in the mail too - the images are stored on the company's servers. The email just provides a link to the location. Word can do that, or you can do it by had in the HTML code the way the previous answer gave.

How can I insert graphics in a table so they will NOT appear as attachments when the table is emailed?

Convert it to a PDF file and send the file as an email attachment. All images will go with it and will be viewable when they open the PDF file. Adobe's PDF Reader is free to use so indicate they need this.

Everyone should have the latest PDF reader of whatever company that makes free ones.

Graphics card sloth help?

I ran a program to find out what graphics card slots i have, it displyed this -

Bus(es) - ISA AGP PCI IMB USB i2c/SMBus

I can see AGP in there and was just double checking if that is the slot i should buy a new graphics card for, also what does the rest of that mumbo jumbo mean, sorry i really dont know alot about computers.

Graphics card sloth help?

hi ben

yes you have a agp slot and you need to buy a agp type graphic card, however now you need to download a diagnostic program called "sisoft sandra lite" from http://www.sisoftware.net/index.html?dir...

you now need to discover the agp version you have and type, hopefully you will have version 2.0 and the type agp 1.5v,as this is compatible with nearlly all the latest agp graphic cards

if its agp 3.0v then you may have problems locating a decent modern agp card as this is the older version, and harder to find newer cards in this version

once you have downloaded SiSoftware Sandra XII you need to look for the diplays sub catergory and this will give you the information you need

if you are having problems finding out the type of agp card then e-mail me the motherboards name and model number(you can also find this out in SiSoftware Sandra XII )

for advice and purchasing a agp card let me know

good luck ben !

Graphics card sloth help?

well, if you have a motherboard with pci-express then that is the way to go, with most of the nvidia 8 series using that slot

for those you will need a pci-e 16x slot

for agp you can still get 7 series cards which will do a good job

the rest is mostly stuff for other cards, e.g. sound cards and wifi cards

Graphics card sloth help?

yes you are right

Will an ATI X1550 graphics card give me next-gen graphics?

I am looking for a cheap graphics card and was wondering if the x1550 will give me next-gen graphics. If it doesn't could you recommend a graphics card that will.

Will an ATI X1550 graphics card give me next-gen graphics?

no X1550 is crap, and only DX9c.

For next gen these are the DX10 options i would recommend :

ATI : HD 2900XT

Nvidia: Geforce 8600 Ultra

all cards under the ones above run on buses that are below 256MB, hence will hurt performance greatly.

Will an ATI X1550 graphics card give me next-gen graphics?

The best thing you could possibly do is watch this website and look at the guides for their computers:

http://sharkeyextreme.com/guides/index.p...

They have a Value Gaming Rig, High-End Gaming Rig and Extreme gaming rig. Look at what they recommend for you price range.

You'll be hooked when you start watching :)

GL

Will an ATI X1550 graphics card give me next-gen graphics?

In basic essence, playing a PC game is drastically different from playing a PC game.

For example, a PC game's performance depends on how powerful your computer is, while console hardware never change, so how will you describe your "next-gen" graphics? Are those games even made right now?

Or are you referring to the latest games to be able to display the maximum graphical settings?

In that case, you have minimal choices, Windows Vista has Direct X10, this allows better graphical quality than Direct X9, but this requires Direct X10 compatible video card. These are the choices for those video cards :

From the most expensive to the Cheapest :

NVidia GeForce 8800GTX

ATI Radeon 2900XT

NVidia GeForce 8600

NVidia GeForce 8500

This is the minimum video cards requires to play the upcoming Direct X10 games such as Crysis.

Graphics Cards - Which is better? Plz help this ickle noob!?

ATI Radeon庐 Xpress 1100 integrated 3D graphics with up to 128MB of shared system memory

or

Mobile Intel庐 Graphics Media Accelerator X3100

Which is better? Can they both run simple games like WoW or Call of Duty 2?

Arghhh im confused!

Graphics Cards - Which is better? Plz help this ickle noob!?

Person above just about summed it up.

I have an ATI Radeon HD 2600Pro which works very good with games.

Nvidia has some good cards that are not to expensive.

Graphics Cards - Which is better? Plz help this ickle noob!?

both is teh suck! X3100 better though

they should both be able to play games like that. no hope for CoD4 though. get a desktop if you want a gamer.

Graphics, hard drive...?

Ok, first thing is first. I have an Acer TravelMate 2420 series, and i want more GB's on my comp... ( it will make it go faster and give it more room for programs right? ) So whuch one would be good for my comp? and does it go INSIDE my comp?

Also, i need better graphics, any recomendations on what i can do / buy to get better graphics?

thanks

brent

Graphics, hard drive...?

Yes it could improve improve performance . But t also depends on what type of hardrive that you get . Not all the time does a bigger hardrive mean better performance. It all depends on how fast tah hard drive can access the information and relay it to the motherboard which then presents that info on to your screen. I owuld suggest going with barracuda, western digital , segate etc. You will also need to turn your system off and install this hard drive . This is something that you can do all by your seff because there are help videos that show you step by step how to do these things . But what really effect performance is ram . Also known in the tech world as random access memory Yes the ram does allow for the computer to draw and process more information alot faster than the generic ram that cam with your computer. Yes ram does have to be installed inside your system . But you cannot just buy any type of ram . First you have to find out what type of ram your computer uses . The most common one is ddr2 but check to make sure.

It is pretty simple in terms of getting a new graphics card but you need to know what your motehrboard supports pci . agp or pci express. All these terms can be explained by a profeshional when purchasing the video card from people such as tigerdirect.com . They are also open 24 hours a day and will kindly tell you everything you need to know , If your not doing anything special such as any serious gaming a well rounder graphics card would be the xfx geforce 8600 or less advanced. That can be purchased under 250 depending on what version of it you get . Hope this helps.

Graphics, hard drive...?

While you can upgrade the hard drive, you won't be able to upgrade the graphics. Most laptops have 2.5" IDE or SATA drives. Check with your mft for the type. Before you replace it have a strategy to move the entire IMAGE (not just the files) over to the new drive. Some drives come with software to do this, but require special cables, or an external USB 2.5" drive carrier. Without the system image, you'll have nothing and you'll have to start over. That said, a bigger hard drive won't necessarily help performance unless it rotates faster, has a larger cache or more sophisticated IO mechanism. RAM is the key to better performance.

Graphics chips are built into the system motherboard.

Graphics, hard drive...?

ok first thing

No video upgrade for this, you have intel gma900, crap video and no way its onboard.

two not sure what you mean buy MB. a bigger hard drive will do nothing for speed, just space

more memory would be your best bet. at the prices now I would just get the max two gig. buy from newegg

Graphics gone all wierd when i make a video using adobe premier?

Graphics gone all wierd when i make a video using adobe premier?

I recorded myself playing team fortress 2.

I recorded about 30 clips each around 10 seconds.

I used a software called Adobe Premier v2.0 to fit them all together.

After I made the final video (all 30 into 1), the graphics were all messed up. However, when i view it ON Adobe Premier it's fine.

I will show you what i mean once the video is uploaded on youtube, i will post link.

Anybody know why this is happening? Or how to resolve it?

Thank you to all that answer, I appreciate it!!

Graphics gone all wierd when i make a video using adobe premier?

what format you are saving the resulted movie in?

Graphics gone all wierd when i make a video using adobe premier?

Try exporting as an avi then importing the avi and saving it to whatever file you need like quicktime or whatever.

It also may be the files themselves. Premier tends to like avi files.

Graphics card for dell vostro?

I have a dell vostro 200 and I want to update it's existing graphics card. Right now i have an 8600 and want to get an 8800gt but i'm not sure if it fits. Does it fit and if it doesn't what graphics card should i get for playing Crysis?

Graphics card for dell vostro?

Well if a 8600 fits, more than likely a 8800GT fits, however you should probably start thinking about getting a new case for gaming purposes.

As for Crysis, there won't be many cards now that will run it at the best settings it can be at, but a 8800GT should run it well enough for now.

As a side note, due to the reviews I've read about the newly released ATI cards (3850 and 3870), don't go with ATI cards at all until they catch up in the race. Although they are beginning development and production for their Quad-Crossfire setups, a SLI setup of the cards now could probably outperform their Quad and nVidia plans on bringing back Quad SLI once they work out the problems before.

Graphics card for dell vostro?

To the best of my knowledge the 8600 is only available in PCI Express therefore you have a PCI Express motherboard.

That being the case then yes, an 8800GT will work in that computer. I don't think the 8800gt uses much more power than the 8600 so you probably don't even need a bigger power supply.

By the way, I just bought an 8800GT 3 days ago and it installed fine. I haven't been able to try it out yet though since I'm still waiting for some more parts for the computer I'm building, BUT the 8800gt is rated as slightly faster (and cheaper) than the 8800gts and is currently a great buy if you can find one.

For info about vid cards I go to tomshardware.com . Try their monthly "best graphics cards for the money" article as well as the "VGA" link under "LATEST CHARTS".

p.s. no I'm not affiliated with tomshardware, I just think they are a great and up to date resourse for info

Graphics Card on Gameplay?

Right now I have an old graphics card (GeForce 5200XT to be exact). Recently I purchased Need For Speed Pro Street for my computer and the graphics are lagging a lot. I used to play NFS:Carbon and it worked just fine. I purchased an ATI HD 2600Pro card (I am still waiting for it to ship to me) and I am wondering wether or not this will solve my problem. My current specs are:

Intel Pentium 4 3.0 GHz processor

1 gig DDR ram

250 HardDrive (about 180gb free space)

and I am replacing my Nvidia GeForce 5200XT with an ATI Raedon HD 2600Pro.

Will this help the lagging stop???

Graphics Card on Gameplay?

yeah... make sure your motherboard will run the 2600pro.

Graphics Card on Gameplay?

I did a quick check on newegg.com and it looks like your old graphics card uses PCI interface . The new one you have coming looks like it is PCIe x16 interface. If this is correct, you will not be able to use the new card - as you probably don't have the PCIe x16 interface on your motherboard.

ASUS Terminator P4 533 Graphics Card & power supply?

I have an ASUS P4 533 terminator barebones system which has built in Graphics on the sis651 chipset. It has a 2mhz P4 chip %26amp; 512mb memory. I want to add a graphics card to improve performance. There is no AGP slot and only 2 PCI slots. 1 PCI slot is used by the santa cruz sound card. The power supply is only 160 watts so IM worried that adding a power hungry graphics card will cause crashes. Any advise on a low power graphics card which would be suitable?

ASUS Terminator P4 533 Graphics Card %26amp; power supply?

theres two problems that you will encounter ,the first is lack of any graphic interface,in that i mean a.g.p or pci-express slot, and secondly the power supply, even to the most basic graphic card 160watts is not really enough for the average system

so first we will deal with the graphic card problem, lucky for you some manufacturers still make pci graphic cards, and theres some decent cards around

probally the best is the nvidia geforce 6200(http://www.dabs.com/productview.aspx?Qui... is currently the only pci based graphics card that supports both direct x 9.0c and pixel and shader model 3.0,both important factors in todays games,it also has 256mb of video memory and a core clock speed of 300mhz,a very good pci card and probally your best choice

another couple of good cards in pci interface are 1)geforce fx5200(http://www.dabs.com/productview.aspx?Qui... and shader model 2.0 and dx9,and 2)radeon 9250(http://www.dabs.com/productview.aspx?Qui... and shader model 1.1 and dx8

secondly once you have chosen your graphics card,a decent power supply would be the next priority, and again, lucky for you they are quite inexpensive, for example the Dabs Value 480W PSU Gold 12cm SATA PFC (http://www.dabs.com/ProductView.aspx?Qui... a good power supply(p.s.u) which has enough overall power to run your p.c and all its components, this p.s.u has 6 x 4pin molex ,1 x pci-e 6pin molex,20(4)pin motherboard connector,2 x floppy power connectors

when buying a power supply use a power supply calculator(http://www.extreme.outervision.com/psuca... this one and enter all your components and when you get your total power usage, then add another 100watt on top of that and thats what your minimum p.s.u should be,however this may sound overkill but i recommend you add another 200watt on top of your total and this way you will be sure and it gives you plenty of power for future upgrades and remember you will probally remove the p.s.u from your current p.c when you buy another and need a more powerful p.s.u

another good p.s.u worth looking at is the OCZ Technology StealthXStream 600W Active PFC (http://www.dabs.com/productview.aspx?Qui... this is a bit more expensive but ocz are the bst manufacturers of power supplys and memory and they carry lifetime warranties

alltogether these two upgrades will cost you less than 鎷?00,a good worthwhile improvment to your p.c and you will certainly see the performance improvement

i hope this helps

good luck mate!

ASUS Terminator P4 533 Graphics Card %26amp; power supply?

The above answer is good, with the one exception: Don't buy a generic psu.

In addition to the OCZ he recommends, look at Antec and maybe Hyper. Antec give a 3 year warranty on their psu's, and the new ones are really quiet.

Graphics card nvidia 7900 gs?

which is the the best graphics card i can get for less than 鎷?00, i have come up with the 7900 gs or the 7900 gt. also these don't support directx 10, i have xp and i will upgrade my computer in 3 months to vista. do you think the last of directx will make much difference. i could get the 8600 gt but thats rubbish as in slow but supports directx 10. are there any ati graphics card i should consider?

thank you

Graphics card nvidia 7900 gs?

I would save the money you have right now for a little bit longer.

The 8600 is not THAT bad of a card for the money. The 8600gt's are not bad at all.

But you might as well save up for something that has the ability to play the games that you will want to play once DX10 comes out.

Graphics card nvidia 7900 gs?

allways go for the gt versions jason, the clock speeds will allways be better in the gt,s

i have just bough the 7600gt and its a good bit of kit, plays any game and able to use all filtering and max detail

the 7900 is a good card, even the 7900gs is a good all round card but the gt will always be faster both in clock speeds and memory speeds

a excelent a.t.i card to consider is the Sapphire X1950 PRO 256Mb PCI-E card(http://www.misco.co.uk/applications/Sear... in my opinion is the best radeon based card for the price range, with its 36 pixel pipelines and 580mhz core clock this is a pure peice of power, with ability to play any game you wish to try

i know the x1950 is slightly over 鎷?00 but anohter good card for less than 鎷?00 is the Inno3D I-Chill 7300GT 256Mb PCI-E Graphics card(http://www.misco.co.uk/applications/Sear... is direct 10 compatible and has a mean core clock of 550mhz,this for its price is excellent, highly recommended

i hope this helps jason

good luck mate!

Graphics Card Upgrade for Advent T9208 - Which Card?

Most of us know the nVidia GeForce 7300 series of graphics cards are incapable of gaming. The Advent T9208 comes with the GeForce 7300SE card (The weakest of the 7300 series), but is overall a decent computer. I've considered upgrading the computer by replacing the graphics card so I can finally play my beloved Battlefield 2 without playing in minimum details. The problem is that the case is very compact and can't fit in many of the modern cards. Has anyone else had this problem and if so what card did you manage to upgrade to?

Graphics Card Upgrade for Advent T9208 - Which Card?

-Recommended System Requirements:

2.66 Ghz CPU

1024 MB RAM

256 MB video card supporting 1.4 shaders (ATI Radeon X700 / NVIDIA GeForce 6600GT or above)

If you're not using the PCIE x1 slot, then all you have to worry about is fouling the heatsink on the reverse side of the graphics card. If you are using the PCIE x1 slot, then you are constrained both sides, but it's just a normal micro ATX board - so solutions should be easy to find...

The third link below gives one such example, from http://www.scan.co.uk/ ...

and the fourth link allows you to see the card from different angles - so you'll have a better idea of any potential problems.

Graphics card replacement help - Need advise?

Hi,

This pertains to a Graphics card i am using from Leadtek viz; Winfast PX 6600GT-128 MB and am a bit of a greenhorn when it comes to graphic cards. The card has been giving me a lot of grief and after a number tests the dealer has offered to replace it with another card viz 6200 or will give me a credit note.

Is Winfast PX 6200 a better card than the one i am using i.e Winfast PX 6600GT-128 MB?

Should i take a credit note and buy another Leadtek card? if yes which one? Need a reliable PCI-Express card.

Am an ocassional gamer and watch movies too on the PC. my configuration is :

MotherboardMSI K8N Neo4 Platinum Edition) (MS-7125)v1.X ATX

ProcessorAMD-Athlon64 3000

RAM1 GB Transcend

Hard Disk160 GB SATA Seagate

MonitorDell Monitor 1707 FP

Graphics CardWinfast PX 6600GT-128 MB DDR3

BIOSSilicon Image Inc. ver 5.1.39

Appreciate any help extended.

Graphics card replacement help - Need advise?

Winfast isn't one of the more reputable card maufacturers first off. Second, the 6600gts ran notoriously hot, so that could be part of the problem. The 6200 is a crap card and is not even close in class to a 6600. You should try and replace it with the same make/model, or depending on how much credit they are willing to give you, use that towards the purchase of a 7600 series card. You will need more memory on those x6xx series cards. They all use a 128-bit bus and more than 128mb ram will bottleneck anyway, especially at ddr3 speeds. Just make sure get one with the ddr3 memory and not the ddr2 or regular ddr. They like to build some of the vanilla 6600s and 7600s with 256mb ddr and ddr2. Stick with the 128mb ddr3.

Graphics card replacement help - Need advise?

check out the numbers....6600GT and 6200.....that alone should let you know the 6600 is a better card......the higher those numbers are....the better the card is....without knowing how much you're willing to spend, i can't say which card to buy

Graphics card replacement help - Need advise?

No the 6200 isn't better than the 6600. Depending on what you use it for you should get at least a 7200. If you can't afford it then at least try to get the same model as the one you have now just with more RAM on it.

Graphics card replacement help - Need advise?

Get a credit note or ask the dealer to get you an MSI Geforce 6200 card. nVidia provides the chipsets, they don't give VGA cards. Our part is to get the card from a good company, like MSI or Gigabyte or XFX. XFX is good and cheap if it is available in your country. Anyhow, go for Fan with heatsink models rather than just heatsink models. I believe nVidia GeForce 7300 is not that costly. Here check an MSI nVidia 7300 card out. http://global.msi.com.tw/index.php?func=...

Hope this helps.

Graphics Card not detected?Multiple same devices?

Hey guys i recently reformatted my PC and i reinstalled it as usual, but, the computer could not detect my graphics card,i already installed the necessary drivers for it and it still cant be detected. When i check my device manager for my display adapters,i see over 30 devices with the same name as my graphics card, which is a Geforce 5700 LE.What should i do?Disable the rest? All help would be appreciated!! Thanks!

Graphics Card not detected?Multiple same devices?

I think it may just be a problem with your card it may have a scratch or something that messed it up because lines on the screen and miscolors are most usally a graqphics card problem, if you can try to put the card on another computer and see if it does the smae porblem then if it does just get a new one.

Trouble with graphics card?

Hi,

I am having trouble with my graphics card.

The screen kinda blinks while im in max (75hz)

This happened while i was playing CSS, a high-demanding-in-graphics game.

My graphics card is very good (NVIDIA GEFORCE 7600GS) ; so what happened? thanks

Trouble with graphics card?

The GeForce 7600Gs should be able to run that game without any trouble. Your problem could be because that your monitor is about to go bad. Try lower the refresh rate to 72 hz, update your video card driver to the latest version, install the latest directx and install the latest patch for the game. Try to re-sit your card in its slot, make sure it's fit tight. There's another reason for the problem : your system RAM could be bad too. Switch the RAM around to another slot to see if it help.

Graphics card on base macbook?

I was just wondering if the graphics card on the base model of the Macbook (Intel GMA 950 graphics processor with 64MB of DDR2 SDRAM shared with main memory) is able to run the mac version of UT 2004 (unreal tournament). That requires a 32MB AGP video card, and I'm unsure of what that means.

Thanks in advance

~Shorty~

Graphics card on base macbook?

The graphics card would be fine but the problem is not in the card but the software itself...... that software was made for Pre-Intel processors which all the new Macbooks now carry intel processors...... the software will not be compatible with the new Macbooks therefore will not run on the books.

Graphics card on base macbook?

no.

Graphics card on base macbook?

There's a new Unreal 2007 that should be out, or out soon that will allow you to play on a newer Mac.

Graphics card info.?

Any new geforce cards out there that have the slots to fit a motherboard that has AGP 4X/8X . I realy dont want to have to get another mother board now. Need to upgrade my computer but i just want a new graphics card. Want to play Call of duty 4 when it comes out with some good stuff. If there is no realy NEW and GOOD graphics cards out could i get a new motherboard, take out my AMD athlon 64 2.2 gig processer and put it into another mother board that supports that processer or should i just get a new processer as well(its still a good processer but could use a new one later on).

Its been about 2 or 3 years since i upgraded my pc(about time for a upgrade)Plan on doing it this year. Any other things any of you could recommend me to get/do to get my computer ready?

Graphics card info.?

i would buy new everything ... the new socket is am2 ... i doubt ur old one will fit and 939 boards will be getting scarce ... if u want just a graphics upgrade u could get an agp 7900 nvidia ..

Graphics card info.?

your processor is still plenty powerful enough. you probably dont have pi support on your motherboard but you can find a motherboard/videocard combo in pci 8x, even 16 nowadays for pretty cheap. go to newegg.com and research what will work with your processor.

Is this graphics card better than NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GT graphics card?

i want to buy a new computer and was wondering is this graphics card NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GT graphics card as good or better than

* Nvidia閿?QuadroTM series

o Quadro, Quadro2, Quadro4

* Nvidia閿?Geforce series (GeForce2 and better)

o GeForce2

o GeForce3, 3 Ti

o GeForce4, 4Ti, MX 420, 440

o GeForce FX 5200, 5600, 5700, 5800, 5900, 5950

o GeForce 6600, 6800

Is this graphics card better than NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GT graphics card?

there is a clue there if you look at it........look at the numbers!

a geforce 6600 is quite a nifty card and i couldnt really recommend anything less than that, stay clear of gf2,gf3,gf4, and fx5*** ranges, all old stuff, 6*** up to 8*** are capable cards, but steer clear of anything that is on board, stuff like the 6150 etc..........

the 7600 will be ok on most games etc, at lower resolutions, but to be blunt, you need a 7800 or higher for good resolutions with effects ramped up, the 8*** range is mainly for vista and directx 10.................so wait before going there.....

if you can afford it try to get a 7800 or 7900 or 7950........

hope this helps.........

Is this graphics card better than NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GT graphics card?

dude, now is the time for geforce 8 series (geforce 8400.8500.8600gt,8600gt,n8800gt/gts/gtx)

geforce 8600 gt/gts and 8800 gtx/gts is better than all you mention above, while geforce 8500 is on par with 7600gt

Will my graphics card work for Team Fortress 2?

It requires a "DirectX庐 8 level Graphics Card" with a recommended ""DirectX庐 9 level Graphics Card."

I have integrated graphics, but the approx total memory when i run the directx tool is 358mb... Can I run it? How do I know if this card is compatible? (Mobile Intel 965 Express Chipset Family)

Will my graphics card work for Team Fortress 2?

I'm not sure that an integrated card would even run the game, let alone make it playable. Are you using a laptop? If so, you might be out of luck. If it is desktop with a pci-e slot get at least the nvidia 8600. The 8800 would be best, but more pricey.

Graphics card for logos?

I have been designing logos heavily over the past year. I recently upgraded to an LCD monitor but i still feel like the graphics could/ should look much better. I only have the on board graphics card. I am thinking it needs to be upgraded. ARe there any suggestions from other designers on what i should use? Does it need to be really expensive to upgrade? Thanks.

Graphics card for logos?

On-board graphics is usually not good so an upgrade may help you. It does not have to be expensive if you are not doing a bunch of video work. I would say look for something in the $100 range. The monitor can also be a problem with image quality, whether LCD or not. I have had LCD monitors that don't look as sharp as my old Trinitron CRT monitor.

The best would be DVI out of the card and DVI into the monitor if you can do that it might help too. Remember the computer is generating a digital image, it has to convert to analog for a regular VGA cable. The LCD monitor is also fundamentally a digital display, if it uses a VGA cable it will have to convert back to digital, each conversion leaves the possibility of signal degradation.

Graphics break while playing PCDVD games. How do i diagoniose the problem?

I have a 64 bit AMD athlon processor, 1 gb ram and a GE FORCE FX 5500 GRAPHICS CARD. when i iplay a pcdvd game like CEASER 4...THE GRAPHICS BREAK..(kinda unsteady slow movements).. how to i diagonise the problem????

Graphics break while playing PCDVD games. How do i diagoniose the problem?

You need a video card... the 5500 GRAPHICS CARD is an entry level card... you prolly be better of with an old GF4 Ti4200 card over a 55/56/5700 card. Only other thing to do is turn graphix setting waaaaay down.

Graphics break while playing PCDVD games. How do i diagoniose the problem?

Your configuration seems good enough to run the game but since the graphics are breaking up, it can be a problem with the DVD or some missing software component which is necessary for running the game. I am not sure whether your graphics card can handle CEASER 4. Please check the game requirements. U will find it in the readme file.

Graphics break while playing PCDVD games. How do i diagoniose the problem?

Though u have a low end card, but still it must be able to play games at low resolution. First check whether u have the latest nvidia drivers %26amp; DirectX version. Then update ur game with the latest patch %26amp; then try. That should solve your problem. Also rem tod efragment ur harddrive regularly.

Graphics card....?

What will play need for speed carbon.

I have the custom pc magazine but that says totally different to system requirements for graphics cards on the internet.

I play need for speed carbon and fear. Then some other small online games.

what card should i get.

I looked at the hd2600x graphics card from ATi, which seems ok, but im not sure...

And what does the HD2600 relate to in nvidia technology (8500/8600?)

thanks, and please suggest which i should get.

My budget is 鎷?0-鎷?0 (Approx $100+USD.) Give or take abit

I have a PCI-E slot btw.

Graphics card....?

First of all, if you're really into racers, buy an Xbox 360. The controls are fantastic (standard controller is the best, but the wheel is even better).

Any Nvidia card that's at least a 6800 or higher will work fine. Stay away from ATi. For your price point, I suggest an 8500 GT. Not sure if you can get shipping to UK, but try newegg.

AMD or Intel for graphics work?

My computer has a Sepron 2600+ Socket A CPU with a nVidia FX5200 AGP graphics card. (The mainboard, a K7VTA3, has a 4x AGP slot.)

I find it very slow when dealing with large graphics files (maps mainly). I want to upgrade the computer to handle these graphics files. What should I go for an Athlon or a Pentium CPU? Any suggestions for a graphics card? (Not too expensive.) Would I see much improvement if I were simply to replace my CPU with an Athlon 3000+ or 3200+?

AMD or Intel for graphics work?

Intel has held the crown for video/heavy graphics work , AMD for gaming, this of cause is all looking to change come the new Conroe chips from Intel.

However despite what the person above says, AMD run cooler than Intel , mhz for mhz although Intel switching to a 65nm architecture has reduced this.

Now to answer your question:

I am assuming you are using a graphics suite like Photoshop etc so the best thing you can do (as you do not suggest how much you would like to spend) is:

CPU: Because your motherboard is SKT A you are limited in the upgrade here so assuming you do not want a new pc we will have to leave this as it is.

Graphics: If you are not looking for gaming performance you will find it helps to get a card with a lot of memory over graphics power. Something like a Nvidia 6200 with 256 of RAM would be fine, but to be honest the 5200 is not what is slowing you down.

Memory: Ideally for heavy graphics work you need lots of RAM , more the better, I recommend 1GB for manipulating big files, this will stop your PC having to use the hard drive as 'virtual memory' which is considerably slower.

HDD: If using Photoshop you can benefit from having 2 hard drives and using 1 for the application i.e. Photoshop and the other for the files and for caching.

Take a read here too http://www.xlr8yourmac.com/perf_basics.h...

If, on the other hand you are looking for a new PC, I would recommend waiting until the end of July when intel release their new chips and AMD are reducing all their prices. Then pick up the best you can afford, remembering that for best performance in graphics manipulation you need a fast processor %26amp; lots of RAM, the graphics are secondary.

If you were to replace the 2600 with a 3000+ or 3200+ you would see about a 5% increase in performance at best and finding one of these chips would be hard %26amp; you would pay over the odds.

Check out reviews on http://tomshardware.co.uk/ of the latest kit to dicover what best suits you.

AMD or Intel for graphics work?

amd athlon 64000

and u could go for nvidia geforce 6600

AMD or Intel for graphics work?

hi

generally amd is better for graphic works in same price of cpu.

but amd has a problem that i do not know it had bee n solve or not: amd's cpu warm by in works. Intell temperature is lower than amd.

for amd you should take a bigger and powerfull fan.

be succsess.

bye

AMD or Intel for graphics work?

The processor won't matter much for large-scale imaging you are better off just upgrading the processor slightly but going to maybe an Athlon 64 2800+ and then upgrading the Video Card more to maybe an nVidia 5900 or higher. Also you might just be low on RAM if you have less than 512MB you might consider just upgrading that.

AMD or Intel for graphics work?

Follow up with the previous posts:

AMD had the problem with the overheating in their Socket A Days. Whew......... mine would be running at 120F. That has all since changed with their introduction to the Cool 'n Quiet technology. New Intel Chips actually run hotter than the Athlon 64 Chips. I've been a faithful follower of AMD and will not replace AMD because they are cheaper and more honest with their Speed.

As one of the previous quotes mentioned, you should get an Athlon 64. It, however will not fit in your current motherboard. You can purchase a CPU/Motherboard with a 3500+ for $200. You can still use your RAM though not advisable. But a gig of RAM running in a match pair with the lowest CAS is like $80 now. Then also upgrade your video card with a PCI Express. Go to Mwave.com as I have seen they have the cheapest prices for Video Cards. You can sell your old CPU and Mobo and Video Card on ebay. Heck give me an offer and I might buy it. I still have my old Sempron 2100 with a GeForce 2 in my living room.

Best luck on what you decide.

AMD or Intel for graphics work?

This is another age old argument.

One thing you should know is that your video card is SERIOUSLY lagging you, but I'm sure you are aware of that. The answer to "what graphics card" Depends on how much you are willing to spend. "tomshardwareguide" and "hardocp" have some pretty good guides for picking the right card for you rbudget.

Depending on what the underlying architecture of the software you are viewing these maps in is, upgrading the cpu may or may not make ANY difference. Some programs are "CPU" dependant, where athlon, opteron, pentium4 does "all the work" whereas other applications [usually more common in games] are very much graphics limited.

I have a client who has a 1 Ghz athlon computer system with 768mb of ram who plays world of warcraft. We recently upgraded her computer by going from an nvidia geforce4 mx-200 video card to a radeon 9600Pro = Her 3d benchmarks in Aquamark went up over 500%, yet.. ALL I did was change video card.

Without knowing what program you are using, I can't tell you if it's graphics card intensive, or cpu intensive. Heck, it could be DISK limited if its, say.. Microsoft Streets %26amp; Trips, for example.

On another note, the argument that amd is cheaper %26amp; faster is NOT valid anymore.

I'll do a quick comparison, right now (07/02/2006)

an "Intel Pentium D 930" processor can be purchased for ~$175 us dollars

That cpu is 64 bit, 3.0 Ghz, dual core (two 3.0 ghz cores) with 2 megabytes of cache memory on each core.

Whereas, RIGHT NOW, the cheapest dual core "Athlon X2" cpu you can buy from amd is :

Athlon 64 X2 3800+ = $300

This cpu is 64 bit, 2.0 Ghz, dual core (two 2.0 Ghz cores) with 512K (1/2 a megabyte) cache memory on each core.

So. compare

................Intel vs Amd

Price : $175 vs $300

64 bit? Yes vs Yes

Core Speed : 3,000 Mhz vs 2,000 Mhz (intel is 50% more in frequency)

Cache : 4mb total vs 1 mb total.

I know, and agree, that amd processors do more per clock cycle, but they do NOT perform 50% faster, clock for clock, nor do they perform 71% faster to justify the price difference that AMD CHARGES over intel.

Which sounds faster? "6 ghz total power with 4mb cache" or "4 ghz total power with 1mb cache"

Shouldn't the 4 ghz option with 25% of the cache cost, at the very least, around the same amount? not "almost double"?

AMD or Intel for graphics work?

Advantages of AMD

1. AMD has the best gaming processors these daysas they have a larger cache

2. Dual cores (in the X2's and even numbered FX's) talk directly to each other

3. New Athlon chips have a dedicated memory bus, which means that they communicate with the computer's RAM on one line and the rest of the computer on another, rather than having all communication jammed into a single bus.

4. Athlon has adopted Enhanced Virus Protection (EVP) which is a processor-level virus blocker. Intel has plans to use this in the future, but Athlon has it now.

5. Dual core seems to make all the difference .. AMD is leading the pack right now. And, they are cheaper

6.AMD chips use less energy and are cheaper to equilivant Intel chips.

Disadvantages of AMD

1.if you choose AMD you are limited to DDR memory an Intel processor you can use the faster DDR2 memory

2.AMD uses crystal庐 technology which i love it!! but if you give it hard work for long time the crystals start to burn and you will burn your CPU!!!

3.AMD is less stable

Advantages of Intel

1. People prefer Intel because they are familiar with it and so they have brand loyalty,

2. in an Intel processor you can use the faster DDR2 memory

3. INTEL庐 uses cabon鈩?technology which is not bad but if you work on TOO fast and HEAVY proccesing the carbon starts to warm and reduces the CPU REAL time

4. AMD can give you better gaming performance, but since the graphics card is more inportant nowadays, I would go with Intel. Their chips offer better stability.

5.Intel is much more suitable for office applications.

Disadvantages of Intel

1. Latest Intel models are really getting crushed by AMD for gaming

2.on the dual core, the data has to leave the processor to go to the other core.

Will my graphics card handle Call of Duty 4? I think it is ATI RADEON Xpress 200 series?

Select Call of Duty 4 and then click"Can I run It"

It will tell you in just a few seconds if your pc/graphics card can run this game an if so,how well.

Will my graphics card handle Call of Duty 4? I think it is ATI RADEON Xpress 200 series?

The xpress 200 is a chip set used on laptops (motherboards) you do not have a graphics "card" .

You can probably play COD4 but you will need to set the graphics quality on the game very low.

Why isnt my new graphics card working?

i bought a new power supply (600 watt) and installed it and everything worked fine. then i shut my desktop down and installed my new 8500 gt prfessional series 1 graphics card. This was replacing my Nvidia geforce 7300 le graphics card. The chipset is a Intel 945G Express and the desktop is called compaq presario sr2129uk and once i put in the graphics card in its slot and push the on button on my desktop and nothing happens. i swith back to my old graphics card and everything runs fine again. plz help

Why isnt my new graphics card working?

8500GT is just a 27 watter and it draws very little power in 2D mode. Even without its driver yet, PC should be able to display POST and boot to Windows. Because of their low power consumption, 8500GT and 8600GT do NOT HAVE the 6 pin PCIe connector. It is the 8600GTS and bigger cards that have the connector.

Try seating the 8500GT well on its slot. Otherwise, better test it in another PC. If it works in another PC, the card may have a slight incompatibility with your motherboards slot.

Why isnt my new graphics card working?

there is a 6 pin power connector to your videocard

make sure that is plugged in all the way

Why isnt my new graphics card working?

Weird. I bought a 750 watt power supply and I have a 7900 and I've never had a problem. Sounds like its drawing more power than it can produce. This can make the power supply fail, and if that happens it can take the motherboard with it. So be careful.

Why isnt my new graphics card working?

Make sure your are connecting to the right slot and also make sure you have the latest drivers

Graphics Malfunctioning...Crashing Games.?

I have a Acer Aspire 5610 with windows vista (unfortunately), and the Intel Graphics Media Accelerator Driver for Mobile is obviously malfunctioning or something because every game I play on it (including old games like starcraft) have messed up graphics, and the newer games even crash after a short period. Help? Please tell me I didnt spend $700 bucks for a useless system, lol

Graphics Malfunctioning...Crashing Games.?

Not to many old game work on Vista. The fact you have Starcraft running on it amezing me. I'm not sure Vista can run many games.

My advice is to go out and buy windows XP. for a gamer it's less touble.

Graphics Malfunctioning...Crashing Games.?

It could be more of a vista compatibility problem than a driver problem.

Try to find out if your games have patches or upgrades for vista.

Or try use the windows application compatibility mode

for more info:

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtec...

Graphics Malfunctioning...Crashing Games.?

I have heard a lot of reports about incompatibilities between Intel graphics chips and games. Try patching the games to the latest versions and updating the video drivers if possible. You can also try the compatibility wizard built into Vista. Since it's a laptop, if nothing seems to work then you're pretty much out of luck. Reverting to Windows XP may help the situation, but there's no guarantee. I wouldn't recommend it unless you know what you're doing.

Graphics Design Web Design question?

Hi I am 15 and have realized I am dead serious about wanting a career in Graphics Design/Web Design

I am currently taking 2 web design classes in school, I find that they are easy, most of the stuff I had already self taught myself.

Anyway I have been self teaching myself Photoshop, which I have been using A LOT.. I also have Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Indesign, and Dreamweaver 8, Is that enough to get started in Graphics, Web Design

If not , can you list some programs I should get eventually, I have a Mac so if it is a Windows software I cant use it untill I upgrade my Mac.. So I do not need to know about Windows programs unless they are a MUST,

Thanks and any info or advice would be great thanks!

Graphics Design Web Design question?

You're good with what you got. But depends on what route of graphic design you want to take. I'm a web/computer graphics designer and that's basically what I use; Photoshop, Illustrator, and Dreamweaver.

Best thing to do is go to a library and borrow some books.

Also, go to a book store and pick up some magazines for Mac; they usually have some pretty good Photoshop stuff that you can use in your web design projects.

Oh, and never stop going to school. Take as many classes as you can now, so by the time you get into your adult hood, you'll be set to go for a career.

Best of luck!

Graphics Design Web Design question?

mmmm.. you could get 3ds max which is a great program for 3ds rendering and you will find it pretty much interesting to use after you learn how, also adobe flash is pretty cool for creating easier cartoonish looking graphics than photoshop... by the way i am 15 too and love graphics and web design too :D

Graphics Design Web Design question?

ah, I'm a graphic designer. These are all great programs that we use in the field. You should check into adobe go live, adobe after effects. These are motion graphics programs. very good to have this skill in graphic design. This will further your job options and pay. Learn as much as you can of the programs, this will make school a better experience because you will be able to focus more attention to learning the design rules etc.. Good luck, hope you all the best.

Graphics Design Web Design question?

I think that this is an extremely good start for a 15 year old. I have been designing websites as a hobby for about 8 years and am still using Macromedia Studio MX Suit, and it has been able to do whatever I wanted it to. (Macromedia was bought out by Adobe, and made the products you are using now.) It includes Dreamweaver, Fireworks, FlashStudio, Freehand, and ColdFusion. I am not sure what the equivalents to those are now, but I think you are on the right track!

Stick with it! Good Luck!

Graphics Design Web Design question?

The Adobe collection is a must for the designer. You really got what you need to start with. Like stated before Adobe Flash is an awesome program that can create great web triks. You might want to look into Adobe's Fireworks too! I have 3dsMax and Maya which are great for 3d applications and you might want to eventually head that direction. They are little used for web design though. There are a plethora of information and tutorials on photoshop and all these programs on the web. Stay in school and never stop practicing. I am attending Westwood Onlin for my BA in animation they are great. They also have web and game design along with a visual communications degree. Check out cgarena.com for tutorials and to stay up-to-date!

Graphics Design Web Design question?

That's plenty, though I'd say learning to use a couple open source apps like the Gimp and Inkscape (they use X11 which is on the 2nd disk that came with your Mac) might be a good idea just because you may be hired sometime by someone who doesn't want to buy Adobe's expensive licenses. My summer job was web design at a place that was really tight on budget, so I installed the Gimp for them.

Also, if you only know how to make sites using Dreamweaver, go learn XHTML and CSS ASAP!

Graphics Design Web Design question?

Don't get caught up on the technical. It doesn't matter what software you use, what matters is you concentrate on learning the basics of design, color theory, typography, layout.. etc.

But for web design specifically, I recommend Flash over HTML/CSS, there is so much more you can do with it.

Graphics card for alienware d9k laptop?

I've been looking around the Internet and it seems like my laptop model, Alienware D9K, virtually doesn't exist.

I have confirmed that the graphics card is no longer working properly and need to replace it. Does anyone have any suggestions on where to start looking or possibly a particular graphics card I should look for? I've looked for hours before I began asking for help, so thank you in advance

Graphics card for alienware d9k laptop?

Try calling Alienware if the laptop is under warranty. They may be able to repair the video card for a nominal fee. Otherwise, one may need a new laptop.

Graphics Cards- can I swap cards that came with the computer?

Does anyone know if I can swap graphics cards between computers? Specifically a Compaq Presario 5320US that has nVidia Vanta (integrated RAMDAC) with a Dell Dimension 2400 that has Intel 82845G Graphics Controller(internal DAC). Both these cards came with the computer when they were bought, so there is no cd with drivers. Do drivers get installed with the physical hardware itself when I attach the card? Can I just simply plug the cards out and swap them? What do I do about drivers if not? Thanks guys.

Graphics Cards- can I swap cards that came with the computer?

If both the cards are of the same format, eg PCI, or AGP, you can probably swap them with no issues. Windows XP should have drivers which will be automatically loaded upon detecting the card.

In the rare instance the drivers are not on Windows XP, you should go to the product manufacturer's site to download the latest drivers.

Be careful if the graphics is "embedded" or integrated into the MotherBoard; in that case, you have to bypass the MB graphics to utilize a card.

Graphics Cards- can I swap cards that came with the computer?

Isn't the Intel 82845G Graphics controller an integrated graphics solution? If so, you cannot remove this. It can be disabled and another card can be inserted. The Dimension 2400 lacked an agp port so you will be limited to pci (not pci-e). If your nVidia card is a pci card you can switch it to the Dell and WinXP should automatically load generic drivers to get it working. You will need to visit nVidia's website and look for the correct drivers though.

I have to wonder if the Vanta will be better than the integrated intel graphics, the only Vantas I could find on the web had 8mb of ram. If that is the case the intel solution will probably be better.

Graphics Cards- can I swap cards that came with the computer?

You remove the card and put the other one just like installing a new card. Install the drivers for it as long as that PC supports that card there is no problem

for all Computer help visit:

http://computerhelp-downloads.blogspot.c...

Graphics Cards- can I swap cards that came with the computer?

You could do that only if your computers' motherboards were compilable. Otherwise you will need to buy the card that is allowed by the mother board. Check with your PC manufacturers for the right card.

Nikolas S

Graphics Cards- can I swap cards that came with the computer?

They both have the graphics chip incorporated into the motherboard. You can buy a graphics card and plug it in. The board has a 4X AGP slot. You can buy a MX440 AGP 8X 64M video card that is backwards compatible with a 4X AGP slot.

The present graphics can be disabled in the bios and once the new card is installed you install the driver software.

Best monitor - graphics card combo?

I'm buying a new laptop with windows vista, so I want adequate graphics. Is a XGA monitor with a 256MB graphics card ok, or I'm wasting the card's power because of the XGA (and not SXGA)?

Is a 128 graphics card still deliver solid graphics?

Best monitor - graphics card combo?

no go with the 256 graphics card only because it is so difficult to upgrade laptop hardware. 128 is becoming low end even when it comes to laptops these days. many newer games require 128 minimum, which usually means you have to scale back the settings in the games to get them to run.

the 256MB refers to video memory and will give you more detail on the screen. for instance, instead of seeing characters with block type hands, you will see five fingers. even if you had an old CRT monitor you would notice a difference and would not be "wasting" anything.

Best monitor - graphics card combo?

ASK A TECHY FOR THAT I WOULDNT TRUST A YAHOO ANSWER FOR THAT

Need a graphics card. Any suggestions?

I have a dell dimension E510 and I want a good graphics card. I play a few games and if I had graphics card I would probably play a few more but mostly I like to watch video on my HDTV. I would like a graphics card with HD capability's and hook up to my HDTV through HDMI. I've been doing alot of research on graphics cards but with so many out there I was wanting some user opinions. I would like to spend less than $200. I've been looking at a Diamond Viper Radeon HD 2600 Pro 512MB card but havn't found any reviews on it. I would like at least a 512MB card. Any suggestions?

Need a graphics card. Any suggestions?

You're going to be limited in your choices due to that system only having a 300W power supply, and many new cards require at least a 350W. (I'm in the same predicament.) The Diamond Viper Radeon HD 2600 Pro 512MB card has gotten good customer reviews on Tigerdirect, but needs a 400W PS. You may want to look at Nvidia 7300 GT or 8500 GT cards - most of the 7300 GT cards and some of the 8500 GT cards will work with a 300W PS.

Need a graphics card. Any suggestions?

I'd personally recommend the ATI HD line of graphics cards. The 2900, 2600 or 2400 series all have the HDMI output that you're looking for.

I'm not a huge Diamond fan, to be entirely honest. ASUS makes a good 256mb PCIe 2400 for around $60-70, but that seems too light for your question. You could get a similar Diamond Stealth 512mb PCIe 2400 for around $80, which seems more like what you're asking for.

The HIS 2600 512mb would be my personal recommendation. I've never had a problem with their cards.

The 2900 series is likely going to be outside of your price range.

Need a graphics card. Any suggestions?

Well, first of all i need to know what type of graphics card slot you have. But i would go with a Radeon 1950 Pro over the 2600 Pro. The 1950 has a 256 bit interface over the 126 bit of the 2600. Even though the 2600 Pro has DirectX 10 capabilities, it will play the games on low settings. The 1950 will blow through everything even though it only has DirectX9.

Philips x53 - graphics.?

Hi. A few months ago i purchased a Philips X53 from PC world. I was assured that this was one of the best new laptops around. being extremely gullible and not knowing a lot about computers i purchased it and it cost a lot. However, its far from perfect. The one thing that annoys me about it is the graphics card. Apparently the graphics card is an 'Intel Graphics Media Accelerator Driver for mobile'. I've bought a few games and the only one that has worked has been Football Manager 2005. I bought Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30 today and it loads up fine until the main menu when nothing appears on the screen. i know the game is still working cause i can hear my mous going over icons. So my quiestion is how do i get a better graphics card/ can i? and will i be able to get Brothers in Arms to work? Another thing that annoys me is my brother purchased an Acer that is a bit older than my laptop yet his laptop is able to play much more advanced games. Sorry for this being so long winded!

Philips x53 - graphics.?

Phillip, I am not sure I can be of much help but I will try. Most of those games come with an 1-800 number, where they will connect you with someone in the "tech" department. Also you should have Tech support with your internet provider, they can answer alot of your questions. It is probably something simple but as we all know on PC's something simple can be a Large headache. Good Luck

Geforce 8800GT Graphics card?

Thanks to all the previous answers to my questions. I have now decided to get a Geforce 8800GT Graphics card off of play.com, there are tons of them but I have two to pick from they are:

Zotac GeForce 8800GT / 512MB GDDR3 / PCI-Express 2.0 / Graphics Card.

On http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/3515227/Zo...

and Play Value Geforce 8800 GT on http://www.play.com/PC/PCs/4-/5243605/Pl...

What do you think? Which would you recommend?

Geforce 8800GT Graphics card?

hi kay

glad to see you are taking my advice, the good thing about the 8800gt is it has a similar architecture to the 8800gtx however the 8800gt is what i would call a "toned down" version

when manufactuers design a power card like the 8800gtx some of the 8800gtx cores dont make the grade and are binned into another batch, this is how mid range cards like the 8800gt and the 8600gt are born

basically the 8800gt is 8800gtx that didnt make the grade,so nvidia instead of simply destroying them manufactuer them into another line of cards

zotac graphic cards are a new manufactuer and are not too bad, they are similar to brands like jetway, they sell graphic cards at budget prices, however they are also "no frills" so dont expect anything like a bundled game or free gamepad like other card manufactuers give with a card

theres not much difference between the two however go for the "play-value" card as it has 1gb of memory compared to zotacs 512mb,dont get me wrong 512mb of ram on a graphics card is by no means a small amount but the 1gb will future proof your graphics for much longer

any problems let me know

good luck kay !

Geforce 8800GT Graphics card?

I would think newegg.com and how bout not buying a 8800GT just yet. The Geforce 9 series is right around the bend. The 9600GT is already out and is just a hair less powerful with less stream processors. Saving that money will pay off in the long run.

Geforce 8800GT Graphics card?

To be honest I have never heard of either Zotac or Play Value so cant recomend either of them. It looks like your not in the U.S.A.so that may be why. Gainward, MSI, EVGA PNY are all good but not sure they are available where you live. Just make sure whoever you end up buying off has a good return policy in case its D.O.A. or whatnot.

Geforce 8800GT Graphics card?

the 8800 512 gts has a better coler sistem and is a little bit faster , it cost 50$ more tha the other

ASUS V9999GT graphics card trouble?

My uncle sent me a ASUS V9999GT graphics card , he's from England, I have the cooler in the right spot and the graphics card but when I try to put it in the graphics card (I have woefully incomplete words sorry) the graphics card has more little spikes on the bottom than my computer can handle. Is this because it was bought in England?(I'm in America)

ASUS V9999GT graphics card trouble?

It's not compatible with your computer. The card is too old for your PC. Buy a new one.

What is the best graphics card for a good price out there right now?

I have a pretty standard Dell B130 laptop with Intel Centrino mobile techonology. My graphics card is really standard also (not exactly sure which on it is but it's not a powerhouse card). I was wondering if it's possible to upgrade my graphics card to a much better one even on a pretty standard laptop like mine...will recent games look good with a high end graphics card that's running on an Intel Centrino processor? Does the graphics card make the difference or the processor? If the graphics card is really important, which one should I upgrade to that's also relatively inexpensive? Thanks guys.

What is the best graphics card for a good price out there right now?

in 9 out of 10 laptops it is NOT possible to upgrade the video processor. there are the rare ones that are able to but you have to use a specialized video card from your system manufactor.

What is the best graphics card for a good price out there right now?

NVIDIA or Voodoo

What is the best graphics card for a good price out there right now?

While I agree that the graphics card is not very powerful in most new laptops, manufacturers don't give much choice in upgrades. Many new laptops come with integrated graphics, and also the graphics card is more than likely not upgradable, as making it upgradeable would introduce a lot more cost and design into the mix. If you were going to game and were in the process of finding a laptop with decent graphics, The NVidia Ge-force Go chips and the ATI Radeon Mobility are decent, but if your laptop didn't come with them, there is not very many, if any choices in upgrading the video card. The only real thing that is feasible in laptops is upgrading the CD-RW to a DVD-RW or upgrading the RAM or Hard Drive, otherwise there is not much you can do.

P.S. When I said that upgrading the laptop video card is not really possible, i meant that a lot of manufaturers don't give that option, though some of the older laptops had the option, that wouldn't be a very good choice either, because then the laptop would have a problem running the games because of the processor instead of because of the video card, and that wouldn't work well either....

I just installed a new graphics card on my computer. Now when I turn it on the monitor says "no

My computer is an HP Pavilion desktop and the graphics card I installed was a 64MB nVidia card. Before it just had Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 950. I think I uninstalled the graphics driver first before putting in the new card. I assumed that the intel graphics didn't have a card to take out, though I might have been wrong. Why doesn't my monitor work? Should I have not uninstalled the graphics software, or do I now have two graphics cards inside my computer? I double-checked that the VGA cords were connected correctly, and everything was plugged in. Any help would be appreciated.

I just installed a new graphics card on my computer. Now when I turn it on the monitor says "no input signal"

First, I need a little more info so I can troubleshoot.:

1) EXACTLY what model number computer do you have?

2) If you pull out the new card and re-insert the old one, does it work?

3) What model number is the new graphics card?

4 We are talking about AGP cards here right?

Go ahead and eMail me at James_Fergason@Yahoo.com

I just installed a new graphics card on my computer. Now when I turn it on the monitor says "no input signal"

Was the old card part of the system board, or was it a separate card plugged into the system board? You can tell from where the monitor lead was plugged in before you changed it.

If it was a separate card, you should probably remove it to prevent any clashes.

If it was part of the system board, it may still be active and overriding the new card. In that case, try connecting the monitor to the old port again. Then go into the BIOS and see what options there are to enable the new card.

Drivers shouldn't matter that much because Windows will use its own basic (VGA) driver if absolutely necessary. It will look awful (640x480 or 800x600 if you're lucky), but it's enough to let you locate and install the proper drivers.

I just installed a new graphics card on my computer. Now when I turn it on the monitor says "no input signal"

you did disable the onboard video in the BIOS correct?

the 64Mb Nvidia probably makes it AGP, so i'll assume you installed it in the AGP slot ( or PCI if it was a PCI card, either way you cannot insert a AGP inot a PCI slot and visa versa as physically they will not fit )

I just installed a new graphics card on my computer. Now when I turn it on the monitor says "no input signal"

You probably need to select which vga card you want in the bios. If the original card is still in it should still give basic vga. And make sure you seated the card correctly.

I just installed a new graphics card on my computer. Now when I turn it on the monitor says "no input signal"

Check the back of your PC where you put all the wires in. Make sure the wire connecting from your PC to your Monitor is not loose and make sure its in. Some of the monitor to PC wires have the little things that you turn to make them tight. Try it now. It should work.
