When I put an older graphics card in my comp it started acting strange. How do I fix it?

I put a 16mb maxtor graphics card in my 234gb space 1042mb ram computer. Is the graphics card to old to run on the comp becuase that wouldn't make much sence. The reason I'm using this (for now) is becuase my good graphics card fried and i'm using this for now. When I turn on the comp it goes on and shows the windows loading screen, then the screen turns blank. Other times I pic "last known good configurating" and it lets me through, even though it looks like crud. I installed the drivers for it and now it's worse becuae it hardly asks me if I want to go to "last known good confuguration" or safe mode etc.

The last time it did work, it looked like no graphics card was in the computer. I ran dxdiag and It didn't say I had a graphics card, it said "n/a". And it already recognized the maxtor graphics card before I installed the drivers. After I did, caboosh. And I know my card is working becuase it works on my other comp. How can I get my computer working normal with this graphics card

You probably won't. You would need drivers to match your current os, also there are now voltage differences for agp cards, some cards can become damaged by putting them in recent boards, and some can actually damage the board.

Sounds like you need to get a driver for that card.
