Graphics on xbox?

I just bought a used xbox ( not 360) from ebgames. The graphics do not look that good, considering ppl rave about the xbox graphics. I am playing burnout 3 takedodown and the cars in the traffic look boxy and all that. Is it possible that someone changed that graphics card or something inside the xbox making the graphics worse as the xbox itself works fine. Or does the tv i am playing on have to do anything with the graphics. Or maybe xbox cant campare with my lapop on graphics.

It's probably not likely that someone changed out the graphics card from the xbox. I don't see why anyone would go through the trouble, b/c the xbox graphics card isn't that great.

I bet you simply had high expectations about your xbox. it's an old technology now, discontinued by Microsoft. if you bought your xbox 5 years ago, i bet you'd be very happy with the graphics, but you bought yourself an old, retired technology now.

If you're playing the xbox on a newer LCD/Plasma tv, the graphics probably will look boxy. Try it on a traditional tube tv, i bet it'll smooth out those sharp corners.

the original xbox cannot compare to a laptop, especially a newer laptop.....as far as someone swapping out the graphics card on an xbox.....i highly doubt it....the old xbox was a decent system but graphically the ps2 was a better system......hope this helped.....Dogz

The original Xbox was a graphics powerhouse in 2001. It's technology. Something that was great last year is outdated this year. The Xbox is 7 years old. You can't compare.

It depends on what games you are playing. Battlefield 2, Far Cry, Halo on Xbox look good. Xbox has better graphics than PS2. The problem is that the processor in the Xbox is not as strong as your laptop.

Well the Xbox is quite old technology, it was out in 2001. But there are some games that make the most of the Xbox like PGR2, Forza, Chronicles of Riddick: Escape from Butcher's bay, Elder Scrolls 3, Ninja Gaiden and Fable.
