i want to buy a new computer and was wondering is this graphics card NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GT graphics card as good or better than

there is a clue there if you look at it........look at the numbers!

a geforce 6600 is quite a nifty card and i couldnt really recommend anything less than that, stay clear of gf2,gf3,gf4, and fx5*** ranges, all old stuff, 6*** up to 8*** are capable cards, but steer clear of anything that is on board, stuff like the 6150 etc..........

the 7600 will be ok on most games etc, at lower resolutions, but to be blunt, you need a 7800 or higher for good resolutions with effects ramped up, the 8*** range is mainly for vista and directx 10.................so wait before going there.....

if you can afford it try to get a 7800 or 7900 or 7950........

geforce 8600 gt/gts and 8800 gtx/gts is better than all you mention above, while geforce 8500 is on par with 7600gt
